What is Religion?
• Religion is difficult to define, because human
belief structures are varied and complicated.
• Religion is the set of beliefs, feelings, dogmas
and practices that define the relations
between human being and sacred or divinity.
Types Of Religion
Monotheistic religions- believe in one God.
Polytheistic Religion- believe in many gods.
Animistic or traditional religions- often believe
that different aspects of nature have divine
powers
Number Of Religion
There are some 4,300 religions of the world.
• The world's 12 largest religions and their number of believers are:
• Christianity (2.1 billion)
• Islam (1.3 billion)
• Nonreligious (Secular/Agnostic/Atheist) (1.1 billion)
• Hinduism (900 million)
• Chinese traditional religion (394 million)
• Buddhism 376 million
• Primal-indigenous (300 million)
• African traditional and Diasporic (100 million)
• Sikhism (23 million)
• Juche (19 million)
• Spiritism (15 million)
• Judaism (14 million)

• Islam is the Second largest religion in the world.
• Followers of Islam are called Muslim.
• Muslim Believe that there are only one God.
• They Believed that the final prophet was Muhammad.
• Muslim base their laws on their holy book Qur’an and
the sunnah.
• There are basic pillars of islam faith , praying five times
in a day, giving money to charity, fasting and pilgrimage
to Mecca.
• Muslims Worship is in the Mosque.
There are two major Branch in Islam
Sunni
Shia
Christianity
• Christianity is the most popular religion in the
World over 2 Billion adherents.
• Believe in Jesus as Redeemer and son of God.
• Believe in God, divided in three element: God
, Jesus & Holy Sprit.
• The Worship is Churches.
• Holy book : Bible.
• Holidays: Easter and Christmas.

• Buddhism is a Spiritual
tradition that focuses
on personal spiritual
development.
• There are no belief on
personal God.
• Siddharta Gautom is
the founder of
Buddhism.

• Hinduism is the religion of the majority of
people in Nepal and India.
• More Than 2000 Gods in Hinduism.
• Hindus believe that’s existence of Birth Cycle.
• Hindus Celebrate many Holy Days.

#Judaism is the original of the three abrahamic
faiths.
#Judaism was founded by Moses.
#They Believe in only one God.
#There are several religious books , most
important is Torah.
#Jews Worship is Synagogues.
Sikhism
The people who practice
Sikhism believe in one
God. And the brotherhood
and all man and women
are equal.
Founded By Guru Nanak.
The Holy Book of Sikhism
is the Guru Granth Sahib
Ji.
They Follow 11 Guru in
Sikhism.
