2. RECAP
◦ What are the 4 learning styles of Honey and
Mumford’s Theory?
◦ If Shelley enjoyed gathering information on
all aspects of a plan and creating an action
before beginning, what learning style would
she be?
3. Today’s Objectives
◦ To action the knowledge from Honey and Mumford
information.
◦ To research Maslow and his Hierarchy of Needs
theory
4. Recap
◦ Read the summary of learning styles from last week.
◦ Recap which style you identified yourself as.
◦ Complete the table using an example of YOUR learning
style and link it to a unit.
◦ For example:
In unit 5 Year 1 we conducted a practical experiment into
homeostasis during exercise. I found my learning successful
with this task as my activist learning style was initiated. I
was hands on with equipment and can still remember how
to take the body measurements. This will assist me in the
future as I want to be a nurse, taking physical
measurements will be a job requirement.
5. Third and final theory!
◦ Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
◦ Task: 4 minutes to research the theory. What does
it say?
6.
7. Abraham Maslow
◦ An American psychologist who believed that we
are all seeking to become the best that we can
possibly be – spiritually, physically, emotionally
and intellectually.
◦ He called this self actualisation
8. Hierarchy of needs

◦ Step 2 – being safe
◦ Step 3 – love and belonging
◦ Step 4 – self-esteem
◦ Step 5 – self actualisation
11. Today’s Objectives
