colors give life to it.

HUE, VALUE & INTENSITY
Hue
It refers to the name of the color itself.
Primary hues: blue, red & yellow
Secondary hues: orange, green & violet

 Sources of heat such as sun, light & fire
 Imply cheerfulness, joys, actions, life &
happiness.

► This is a relative lightness and brightness of a value for a light
and dark, practically, knowledge of the value of colors helps

Intensity
► It is worth remembering that colors have psychological and
emotional bearings. Sometimes are shown on the thickness of
the colors being applied. This is apparent in the fauvism form of
art. Fauvist like van Gogh expressed emotion by thickening the

happiness. A fauvist to expressed his feeling or happiness
thickened the red color. This is referred to as the third element
of art known as intensity.

Perspective
► This is the painters technique to make the object of his art appear as
in the distance or in the depth. To draw a highway, painters used two
converging lines. The two lines of a railway seem to meet in the
distance.
Chiaroscuro or light and shadow
► The word is taken from the two Italian word chiaro which means light
and oscuro means dark. This is a pictorial representation using light
and shade without the use of colors.
