2. Fukushima I nuclear accidents
Fukushima I nuclear accidents is severe nuclear accide
nt. Large radionuclide was released. As a result,
170,000 people within 12 miles of the plant have to
escape place of refuge. And, at least 200 people hav
e been exposed to radiation. Are they all right?

3. Nocuous of radiation
・ There are two types of radiation(non-ionizing and
ionizing)
・ Non-ionizing is safe. For example, infrared radiation,
radio wave, cellphone radiation and microwave are
Non-ionizing.
・ Ionizing is harmful. It breaks chemical bonds and
causes cancer.For example, X-rays, gamma rays and alpha
or beta rays are Ionizing. Generally speaking ,it means
radiation.

4. Influence of Radiation
・ Influence of person caused by radioation depends on how
long you are exposed.
・ The initial symptoms are same as adverse by radiation
tratment. For example, vomiting, diarrhea and hair loss
deserve it.
・ Severe symptoms are destruction of the intestinal lining
and worse diarrhea and dehydration, then central nervous
system damage. In the worst case, it causes death.

5. Comparison between the accident and
nuclear bomb
・ The accident is different from explosion of nuclear bomb.
・ Explosion of nuclear bomb produce X-rays and gamma rays
They make mushroom cloud which includes cesium-137,
iodine-131, radioactive strontium and a host of other
long-lived byproducts of the explosion and sheds
radioactive subatance kill many people.
・ Fukushima does not release X-rays and gamma rays.
Most of radioactive subatance which is radiocesium and
radioiodine, which is generated in a process of atomic
power generation. Of course, they are harmful to human
being, too.

6. Iodine-131 and Cesium-137
・ Iodine-131 and Cesium-137 are released by nuclear
accident.
・ If people absorb Iodine-131 , the possibility that
people might contract cancer of the thyroid will rise. I
In fact, many people contractd it and die in Chernobyl.
It is confirmed that it is released in Fukushima.But,
Iodine tablet can restrain the symptom.
・ Cesium-137 is danger like Iodine-131. It has a half-life
of 30 years. So,Chernobyl became land which is not suitable
for living. It is also confirmed that it is released in
Fukushima.

7. Damage by radiation
・ The biological risk of exposure to radiation is measured
in sieverts.
・ Dose limit of ordinary person is 1 millisieverts a year
and one of radiation worker is 50 millisieverts a year.
・ A dose of 2000 millisieverts causes hair loss and bleeding
and kills 5 percent people. One from 3000 to 5000
millisieverts kill 50 percent people and cause cataract
and erythema. One of 7000 or more kill 99 percent people.

8. Matters to be attended to
Fukushima I nuclear accidents is the worst nuclear accident.
A lot of people are very concerned about safty of nuclear
power plant and groundless rumors are abroad. I think that
people should take care of following heads.
・ Take care of rumors.
・ Don`t do overreaction.
・ Get right knowledge about radioactivity.
・ Understand that different experts may have different
opinions about damage by radioactivity.
