Re: Recommendation for Mary Ferry
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am delighted to have the opportunity to recommend Mary Ferry for employment. I have known Mary
for over 8 years in my capacity as President of the Commercial Foods and Private Brands segments of
ConAgra Foods, Inc. Mary provided the Financial Planning and Analysis support for my businesses and
through this work, I gained an appreciation for Mary’s skills and contributions.
She worked closely with me, providing visibility to the financial results of the company. Her role
demanded that she work harmoniously with a wide range of people while commanding respect. Due to
her personality, she was able to accomplish this with relative ease. She had a positive attitude when
dealing with both her superiors and her colleagues. Mary demonstrated the ability to manage multiple
tasks and accomplish goals efficiently and according to schedule; her work performance was
consistently strong.
Mary assisted me in the preparation of monthly business reviews, board meetings and strategic and
annual planning reviews. The FP&A requirements of a large publicly owned company are significant
which required me to have a very capable person in this role. ConAgra’s Commercial Foods and Private
Brands segments (including joint ventures which do not report revenue externally) represented over $13
billion in annual sales, with over 90 manufacturing facilities in 7 countries and over 15,000 employees as
well as customers across every food channel in the market. Mary managed this level of complexity well
and consistently met or exceeded my expectations. She is very responsible and professional and her
ambition was evident in her ideas and performance. She demonstrated a great interest and dedication
to the success of the company.
I recommend Mary Ferry without reservation, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have
about her specific skills and experience.
Sincerely,
Paul Maass
