- Goal of the slide This shows how the different components fits into to the SAM picture Suggested Script In SAM you need a reconciliation engine that recognises the software usage and is able to clean and normalize inventory data as well as store all the entitlements. [click] Snow Inventory tracks the usage of business applications, alternatively you can use other inventory tools and with the Snow Integration Connectors automatically consolidate audit data from multiple sources into a single view of all software and hardware assets on the network covering the full range of enterprise computing platforms (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Unix). And for SAP software we have the Snow Optimizer for SAP software that is able to take a full inventory of your SAP environment. All program files are matched against Snow’s Software Recognition Service engine, which covers more than 33,000 software publishers and over 217,000 applications out-of-the-box and feeds this into Snow License Manager which provides a consolidated view on all assets across the network, enabling staff to use just one interface to manage multiple software vendors, device types and locations. This Actionable Intelligence enables the SAM owner to : Create Effective License Positions (ELPs) for all software vendors, including Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe and more Track software license expenditure Monitor usage of deployed assets Identify opportunities to reduce licensing & support costs It also enables multiple stakeholders to access tailored-views that enable them to be more productive and track what they need to know.
