1.Who is the latest president from the pictures?
2. How many have become presidents of the Philippines?
3. What do you think are the qualities of the presidents in the picture prosessed?
4. Do you have an idea how these presidents managed/handled our country?

EXECUTIVE POWER
• Executive power is roughly defined as the power to implement laws in one
country. If the legislature’s task is to create or make laws while the
Judiciary’s duty is to interpret or apply these laws, the executive branch of
the government is vested the power to execute these laws and make sure
that they are properly implemented.
• The president of the Republic of the Philippines is both the head of
government and head of state. This means that he or she holds both
governmental and ceremonial powers.
• The president is not only the head of the executive department but of the
entire country; hence he or she is referred to as “Pangulo”.

POWERS OF THE PRESIDENT
• The Philippine president is granted specified powers by the Constitution.
The following are some of his or her powers:
Control over all executive departments, bureaus, and offices
Power of general supervision over local governments and autonomous regions
Power to nominate, appoint, and remove officials
Budgetary and fiscal power
Military power (Commander in Chief)
Power to contract or guarantee foreign loans on behalf of the country
Pardoning power
Check other branches of the Government

• A. Directions: Make an essay about the situation below.
• Knowing that corruptions and other major crimes are rampantly happening,
as a learner you are given the chance to critique the bill that allows Death Penalty.
What will your criticism be and why? You are to discuss your answer in not less
than 3 paragraphs. Your Criticism will be rated based on the rubric provided
below

• If you were given the chance to meet President Bongbong Marcos, what would
you ask him?
• What is the role and powers of the Philippine
presidents?
• Analyze the situation and explain your answer to the space provided

illegal. You disagree with this bill and absolutely do not want such a law passed.
What can you do to act on your displeasure, and what role enables you to do it?

• Directions: Congratulations! You have just been elected as the President of the
Philippines. Given what you have learned regarding the powers granted to the
president, you must deal with the following situations in an appropriate manner,
making good use of your power and justifying your right to handle these situations
by noting what role gives you the power to make such a choice. Remember, the roles
of the President include: Chief Executive, Chief Diplomat, Commander in Chief,
Legislative Leader, Head of State, Economic Leader, and Party Leader. Write your
answer in a sheet of paper provided for you.
• 1. Egypt and Israel continue to fight and bring even more instability to the Middle
East. You are very concerned about this situation and would like to rejuvenate the
peace process in the Middle East. What power do you have in this situation, and what
role grants you this power?

  • 5. EXECUTIVE POWER • Executive power is roughly defined as the power to implement laws in one country. If the legislature’s task is to create or make laws while the Judiciary’s duty is to interpret or apply these laws, the executive branch of the government is vested the power to execute these laws and make sure that they are properly implemented. • The president of the Republic of the Philippines is both the head of government and head of state. This means that he or she holds both governmental and ceremonial powers. • The president is not only the head of the executive department but of the entire country; hence he or she is referred to as “Pangulo”.

The following are some of his or her powers: Control over all executive departments, bureaus, and offices Power of general supervision over local governments and autonomous regions Power to nominate, appoint, and remove officials Budgetary and fiscal power Military power (Commander in Chief) Power to contract or guarantee foreign loans on behalf of the country Pardoning power Check other branches of the Government
