there is a large swath of natural grasses and bush. While on
the walk, we saw a second coyote circling farther away
through the grass area. This is a beautiful wild area where
we walk the dogs and frequently see wildlife on those walks.

STORY:
I'm submitting a photo taken
while on one of many walks
down the Doris McCarthy
Trail during this pandemic.
What a breathtaking view!
Since March my husband and
I have discovered all sorts
of trails around the area
and beyond. We moved to our
current home just over 7
years ago and honestly, I
can't believe this beauty
was hiding in plain sight the
whole time! It took the
pandemic for us to
find. Whether just a
straight walk down the hill
to the opening of the lake,
skipping rocks by the water
with our boys, or walking all
the way east toward the
Guild, Doris McCarthy is
frequented by our family at
least twice a month
now. During this time
especially, the crash of
waves, the sound of the
many birds, or even the
sight of majestic swans has
had a lasting effect of calm
on us, allowing us to escape
the tension of these
unprecedented times.

CLIFFCREST is a part of a
cluster of other magnificent

communities, located within
the larger and magnificent
regional community of
SCARBOROUGH, all of which
are located in a City which has
become the envy of the world,
and is known as TORONTO.
Cliffcrest and area
communities are filled with so
many wonderful people of all
shapes and sizes but, we are
best known for our wide
ranging socio-economic and
cultural diversity, all doing
their very best to live in
harmony with the wildlife and
magnificent beauty, MOTHER
NATURE has afforded us all.

I am not a photographer but,
today allowed an amateur like me,
to enjoy and share the beauty of
our neighbourhood, with photos
taken from our front window and
rear yard patio.
These vistas are what we can still
see today from our house. I
purposely did not take any photos
facing to the west, as the once
magnificent and most beautiful
tree canopy which was once
abundant, is disappearing at an
unprecedented rate. To include such
west facing vistas would literally
destroy the beauty I have tried to
share. I will cherish and burn
these photos deep into my memory
as I’m fearful, it will soon only be
memories which I and others can
reflect upon, if we do not make a
hard and fast stand.
