Scott Thornbury is currently Curriculum Coordinator of the MA TESOL program at the
New School in New York. He has written several award-winning books for teachers on
language and methodology. His latest book, Teaching Unplugged (Delta Publishing; co-written
with Luke Meddings) won a British Council Innovations Award (ELTON) in 2010.

Sue Palmer
Sue Palmer, a former headteacher in Scotland, has written more than 250 books,
educational TV programmes and software packages on aspects of literacy. For more than
fifteen years she has been a popular speaker on this subject in schools, colleges and
universities in the UK and across the world, and a frequent contributor to the educational
press, notably the Times Educational Supplement and Child Education.

Rosa Aronson is the executive director of TESOL International Association. A former
Fulbright exchange teacher, Aronson started her career as an EFL teacher in France. She
holds an MA in English Linguistics from the University of Aix-en-Provence and a Pd.D. in
Social Foundations of Education from the University of Virginia. Her areas of expertise are
ELT, Multiculturalism, Public Policy / Advocacy, Refugee Concerns and Secondary
