Northeast Florida communities are vulnerable to sea level rise. Let’s start the discussion on the possible scenarios and how we might adapt and mitigate.
2. Who We Are
The Northeast Florida Regional Council
(NEFRC) unites Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler,
Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns Counties and
provides a forum for discussion and
implementation of solutions that benefit us all.
In 2014, NEFRC is beginning ACTION on a
Regional Action Plan to address sea level rise.

3. What We Are Trying To Do
Expand awareness of the importance of the Region.
None of our counties, cities or towns can effectively
address sea level rise on their own.
Get businesses and residents engaged in deciding what
Northeast Florida should do about sea level rise.
Engage 5,000 people in discussion on this topic in 2014.
Challenge residents and businesses to learn about the
Region. Join the Regional Resiliency (R2) Challenge.
Sea Level Rise Community Meetings in each county can
help you WIN THE R2 CHALLENGE!
4. What We Need To Do It
To help accomplish these goals we need to
raise $5,000 to fund educational initiatives in
each of the seven counties in the Region.
This money will also go to developing a
clearinghouse website which can be used as a
resource on sea level rise scenarios, adaption,
and mitigation.
5. Why We Are The Ones To Do It
Northeast Florida communities
are vulnerable to sea level rise.
We are REGIONAL.
We care about RESILIENCY.
We are R2.
