1. Buzz Aldrin
Buzz Aldrin has become famous for being the second person to step the moon. He
changed his name to Buzz because his young sister couldn’t say brother and she
pronounced “buzzer”. He has always been the most exposed to the media and he
talked in universities, interviews and conferences about future travels to Mars.
In his career Buzz Aldrin did sixty-six combat missions in planes, flew into space on
board the Gemini XII and he stepped on the moon on board the Apollo 11 enforcing
Kennedy’s promise to step the moon before the U.S.S.R. He had depression and
alcoholism in 1970 but he recovered in 1971.
When he travelled to the moon in 1969 he was with Neil Armstrong for about twenty
hours on the moon’s surface. Then, he went into the spaceship with Michael Collins.
At the present Buzz Aldrin works on TV and he appears in series and films like The
Big Bang Theory, Transformers 3 or The Simpsons interpreting himself, and Buzz
Lightyear of Toy Story was named in his honor because it’s the coolest name that any
rocket man ever had.
