Logistics automation
at Kampol-Fruit Sp. z.o.o.
Kampol-Fruit Sp. z.o.o. ranks to a leading Polish compa-
nies of fruit and vegetable processing. The company was
founded in 1992, is headquartered in Biała Rawska and the
production plant in Nasielsk. Another plant combined with
a modern sorting department, press and cold store came
into existence in Milejów. Kampol-Fruit specializes in the
production of frozen food from the local seasonal fruits,
vegetables, mushrooms and herbs, as well as concentrates
and fruit and vegetable purees. Currently, annual produc-
tion includes more than 80 thousands tons of products.
OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Modernization of logistic processes
→→ Introduction of bar codes for product identification and warehouse
service
→→ Ensuring compliance with international standards in the range of
distribution
5// www.skkglobal.com //
CASESTUDY
BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Faster receiving, labelling and issuing the goods
→→ Less labor-intensive service of the warehouse
→→ Control of the supply chain
→→ Significant reduction of human errors
→→ Precise identification of products
→→ Reduction of operating costs
In the way of dynamic development Kampol-Fruit Sp.z.o.o. opened
a modern freezer room equipped with sliding shelves of new generation in
Milejów. The next stage would had been the implementation of a system
which streamlines all warehouse operations, including the goods labelling.
After analysis of the solutions available on the market, the company de
cided to choose a comprehensive system of SKK S.A. company which includes:
• SKK Smart, advanced software, registering the movement of raw materials
and goods,
• Specialized printer for printing the locational labels on goods,
• Portable terminals equipped with bar code readers,
• Wireless network enabling data transmission through the radio.
SKK Smart registers all stages of goods in trade quickly and accurately. From
the supply of raw material by farmers, through its sorting, classification, entry
and exit from the production line, until placing the finished product in freezer
room and issuing to the warehouse. Individual operations at the levels of produc-
tion, storage and distribution take place through the agency of bar codes - by bar
code scanning from the goods by means of mobile terminals. Previously these
operations were carried out manually - with use of paper documentation.
SKK Smart software is equipped with Web Transfer - a data exchange module,
which enables communication between the terminals and the internal informa-
tion system of Kampol-Fruit - Symfonia. Thanks to that, the data scanned from
the terminals are sent through the radio to the Symfonia program automatic
ally. The reverse process is accomplished similarly. Each command commissioned
from the ERP system is displayed on the terminals in the warehouse.
At each of the stages all goods are labeled with specialized labels containing
bar codes. As a part of the supplied solution Kampol-Fruit can print location
labels, which indicate the place of storage in the warehouse and logistic labels
which identify individual products. These labels use the international standard
GS1. On this basis, it is possible to trace the entire supply chain from the entry
of raw material to the warehouse until its purchase by the customer (so-called
traceability). This is particularly important in the food industry and is governed
by the relevant provisions.

Cooperation with SKK S.A. proceeds ex-
emplarily. There are no delays in deliveries
to our branches throughout the country,
despite that occur orders of supplies with
very short lead time (48 hours). Equip-
ment failure frequency is extremely low -
at this moment we have more than 1,500
Honeywell 3800g readers and we regis-
tered 7 failures so far. Each of the service
notifications was accepted, and the fault
eliminated within 48 hours in the place of
equipment installation (network of over
130 branches all over the Poland) - says

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Faultless registration of paper documents
→→ Bar codes reading from even poorly printed or damaged documents
→→ Efficient verification and data archiving in the databases ofthe bank
→→ Minimizing the costs of paper documentation handling
Taking care of exceptional standard of service and the highest quality of cus-
tomer service Alior Bank uses innovative technological solutions in its branches.
One of them is the use of bar code readers for the identification of documents
provided by Cracow company SKK S.A. It is a solution that significantly improves
the employees’ work as well.
Alior Bank’s decision about the choice of SKK to prepare this implementation
resulted from the high assessment of the reliability and experience of Cracow
company.
Alior Bank described his expectations precisely. Devices had to meet high
standards, of which the most important were the functionality and appearance.
Requirements concerned, among others, the following parameters: guarantee
period of 36 months, repair (replacement) of the device within 48 hours from the
receipt of service notification anywhere in Poland, the possibility of automatic
operation without manual trigger, communication interface: USB, compliance
with CE standards and making available the readers for tests.
After the market analysis and carried out tests of devices, the Honeywell 3800g
reader was selected. There were evaluated among other things: efficacy of bar
codes reading, reading bar codes of poor quality, speed and distance of reading.
The Honeywell 3800g reader is the best device in its class. Its advantages are
mainly durability, ergonomics and communication. What’s more - the reader al-
lows reading many different bar codes, even damaged or poorly printed ones.
It is reliable and guarantees error-free reading. Furthermore, the device is small
and lightweight, which provides comfort and labor productivity. In addition, the
Honeywell 3800g reader (diode) has no the built-in movable elements for read-
ing, as opposed to laser readers, what makes it much more resistant to mechan
ical damages and shock-proof.
Within the cooperation the SKK company delivered the readers with an ex-
tended warranty period (60 months) and maintenance services fortheAlior Bank.

„Intelligent warehouse”
at Polpharma SA
In existence since 1935 Polpharma SA Pharmaceutical
Works are a leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical in
dustry in Poland. The foundation of the Polpharma’s suc-
cess are tradition and experience, which combined with
high standards of management and the most modern tech-
nologies of production, determine the leading position on
the Polish pharmaceutical market.
OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Meeting the requirements of GDP, i.e. good distribution practice
→→ Compliance with the EAN-UCC system
→→ Compatibility between a material flow and an information one
9// www.skkglobal.com //
CASESTUDY
BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Reduction in the cost of collective finished products marking
→→ Elimination of paper documents connected with picking the consignments and issues for production
→→ Execution of occurrences and transactions in real time
→→ Significant reduction of human errors
→→ Increase in the speed of entering data into the computer system
Due to the dynamic development of Polpharma SA, the management of com-
pany decided to implement an integrated management system - Oracle E-Busi-
ness Suite. One of the elements in this system is the Oracle WMS - high storage
warehouse management module, to which SKK provided the innovative solu-
tions increasing the effectivity of employees.
Supplied by SKK the system is based on devices of the American company:
Intermec, equipped with certificate of compliance with Oracle. We were looking
for company with experience, which could adjust its proposals to the already in-
stalled system. Loftware software for printers, which uses SKK had been proven
by Oracle’s experts before - explains the director of logistics in the company -
Wojciech Kisielnicki.
This software enables the labels design, the control of labels printing on many
printers, and most importantly full communication with Oracle E-Business Suite.
Provided by SKK the system is fully compliant with the international standard
of labeling - EAN-UCC.
The labels printing system consists of two parts: the off-line labels printing
system on collective cardboard boxes and pallets with finished products and on-
line labels printing system integrated with Oracle WMS application - specifies
Wojciech Kisielnicki. Places of locations in the warehouse are marked with a num-
ber expressed in the form of bar code. Bulk packaging are marked with logistic la-
bels containing, among others, identifier of goods, batch number, quantity, SSCC
number (Serial Shipping Container Code).
The warehouse management system distributes the tasks and automatically
sends commands to a defined operator of forklift truck. Using terminals, the
employees read bar codes and an information about carrying out the command
goes to the system in this way. After ended task, the software determines next
command to take the product from the nearest part of the warehouse. The hu-
man’s role comes down to handling the terminal.
SKK won the competition for the best
offer thanks to that it presented the most
comprehensive offer. Aside from providing
a radio network, hardware and software
the company’s experts also guaranteed
service and conduct the trainings - ex-
plains Wojciech Kisielnicki, director of lo-
gistics in Polpharma.

Radio communication
in warehouses of PSB Group SA
PSB Group SA is the largest and fastest growing network
of building materials wholestoles and stores “home and
garden” type. PSB has over 400 building depots, nearly
200 PSB-Mrówka shops and 34 PSB-Profi shopping cen-
ters operating throughout the Poland. The warehouses and
Mrówka shops employ a total of about 11 thousand people.
The company’s headquarter is in Wełecz near Busko-Zdrój.
There also is a Group Logistics Centre, which consists of
warehouses, storage yards and office buildings.
OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Radio network construction
→→ Warehouse equipment with hardware for marking and barcode
reading
→→ Implementation of warehouse management system
11// www.skkglobal.com //
CASESTUDY
BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ On-line access to always current stocks
→→ Increase in the accuracy and efficiency of warehousemen work
→→ Secure communication
In orderto improve the warehouse service PSB Group was looking for a partner
who will not only provide radio devices, but most of all will design the network,
implement a solution, provide all other equipment, conduct tests and will be
providing technical support services after the implementation.
We chose SKK among many bidders because it had the best recommendations
and we were not disappointed – says Jarosław Lenczowski, a computer scientist
from the IT Department of PSB Group.
Prior to the construction of the network SKK specialists performed measure-
ments of waves propagation. The aim of the measurements was selection of the
optimal solution, determination the number of access points (AP) and final prepa-
ration of the project. SKK experts designed network, delivered and installed the
radio access points.
According to the assumption, the radio network covered the reach of all ware-
house buildings, including the building of high-storage warehouse and the outer
area between the buildings, i.e. vehicular roads and external storage yard. On the
occasion of network implementation for the storage system the client decided
to extend the network coverage for the office area. Providing wireless coverage
over such a vast and diverse area required the use of several network technolo-
gies.
SKK also proposed and provided 22 radio terminals for the system. On termin
als the PSB warehousemen perform warehouse operations such as receipting
and issuing of goods, stocktaking or picking on-line. SKK supplied and installed a
dozen or so the stationary and mobile printers for printing labels on the received
goods, assembled in the warehouse and ready for shipping.
The co-operation with SKK was very good. The network works flawlessly. In
the future we plan its expansion with additional mobile devices. Choice of SKK as
a supplier was right on the mark - states Jarosław Lenczowski.

Printers of applicators are equipped with fast processors which make possible
the print of succeeding labels with new data. The ability of communication with
devices in many ways (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB) enables easy integration in
a manner dependent on the application requirements.
Durability and fail safety of devices are provided by casings and actuators
of applicators made of the highest quality materials such as stainless steel,
hardened aluminum or impact-resistant plastic. The devices are adjusted for con-
tinuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
By using branded components derived from the best suppliers, users have as-
sured access to spare parts worldwide.
The first line for automatic production labelling was launched in Swisspor’s
production plant in Międzyrzecze in 2006 by SKK. Currently, the system of
products automatic labelling (8 automated lines) operates in all four Swisspor’s
production plants in Poland.
SKK is a reliable company. Our cooperation with SKK is very successful and
brings the desired results. SKK’s experts carried out the installation of equipment
quickly and efficiently. As a part of the implementation there were also conduct-
ed our workers’ trainings concerning the applicators handling. The company also
provides the necessary supplies and warranty and post-warranty service - says
Artur Kaczmarek, Production Manager of Swisspor’s plant in Międzyrzecze.

The Jagiellonian University
modernizes the stocktaking
The university, like other public institutions and commer-
cial companies must conduct periodic inventories. In the
case of the Jagiellonian University the stocktaking is a sub-
stantial challenge because hundreds of thousands of ob-
jects are subject to inventory.
OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Streamlining the process of stocktaking
→→ Interoperability of a new solution with the university management
system (SAP)

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Efficient and less time-consuming process of stocktaking
→→ Possibility of carrying out several inventories at the same time
→→ Adapting the application to the individual needs of the university
→→ Time and cost savings
→→ Elimination of errors in the inventory committees
In order to streamline the listing process of the university’s property, its authori
ties decided to implement - proposed by SKK S.A. – the solution consisting of the
Honeywell Dolphin 6100 terminals and SKK Smart application.
HoneywellDolphin6100mobilecomputerisasmartandreliabledeviceequipped
with a scanner that reads two-dimensional (2D) and standard one-dimensional (1D)
bar codes, it allows reading bar codes with any orientation, as well as creating pho-
tographic documentation. There are displayed the messages on the screen of scan-
ner which indicate the irregularities during the inventory. Its additional advantage
is the ability of conducting several inventories at the same time (for several units).
The terminal enables data exchange with SAP within the whole area covered by
the wireless network (all units of the JU), and in addition the user is guaranteed
a secure storage (security in the non-volatile memory or on removable media).
The integrated radio with 802.11 b/g standard provides the users a connectivity
with the information system of the university and access to necessary data while
ensuring high security of transmission.
SKK Smart is a simple to implement software dedicated for mobile computers
equipped with bar code readers (e.g. Dolphin 6100). The application allows to
document the inventory by registration of bar codes, which are on the items and
objects. Thanks to that the work with the application eliminates the necessity of
a labor-intensive documenting the operations using paper lists. It is worth adding
that the SKK Smart cooperates, on the basis of data exchange data, with SAP –
the integrated management system used by the Jagiellonian University.
As a part of cooperation SKK also conducted the trainings for Jagiellonian
University’s employees and signed 3-year contract with the university for an ex-
panded warranty covering software and hardware.
SKK’s consultants adapted the program to the individual needs of the Jagiello-
nian University in short time. Thanks to the solution proposed by SKK the invent
ory process proceeds efficiently and takes less time - says Anna Mirek from the
Permanent Stocktaking Department of the Jagiellonian University - a key user of
SAP in the range of stocktaking.

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Increase of picking efficiency
→→ Improvement of work ergonomics and safety
→→ Improved quality of carried out work
→→ Reduction in the cost of quality control
→→ Significant reduction of mistakes amount
Logistics of frozen foods belongs to very specific sector of industry. Starting
from the loading of the goods at the manufacturer’s, through the warehousing
until the deliveryto a retailer, food must be stored properly. Work in freezer room
is very difficult for both people and devices.
In 2011, Frigo Logistics set itself the goal of improvement the picking process.
The optimal solution proved to be the Vocollect voice system, which implementa-
tion has been commissioned the SKK S.A. and Quantum companies.
SKK provided 60 sets of voice terminals and an authorial software which task
is to convert the data from the warehouse management system (WMS) for indi-
vidual successive actions to perform. The software is also responsible for the way
of communication between the operator and the voice system.
The set consists of a terminal pinned to the belt, the software generating a
speech in Polish and headphones with a microphone pinned to the helmet.
After logging to the WMS the operator receives to his terminal an assignment
of a conveyor (of a pallet) destined to him for the picking. Then the warehouse
management software sends to the voice terminal the individual positions for
picking. Voice system software “translates” them into Polish and tells the oper
ator to which location he has to go. After reaching the indicated place a ware-
house worker confirms (by means of the determined command) a readiness to
taking the product.
The voice from the terminal passes on to the operator the information about the
product and the quantity to be taken. In answer the worker confirmes the actual
taken quantities, along with the control in relation to the commissioned amount
both for the plus and for minus. The operation is performed cyclically until com-
pleting all items of the pallet. The last task is to provide the pallet on an appropri-
ate accumulation field and to stick a logistic label. At any moment the worker has
to his disposal a number of keywords which enable the device polling with regard
to essential information.
Frigo Logistics is pleased with cooperation with the SKK, implemented innov
ations and considers the possibility of service for other processes using the voice
system.
Initially the workers were approach-
ing the new solution warily. Now they are
satisfied. Having a choice a standard ter-
minal (bar codes scanner) and a voice one,
they choose the second one - says Jacek
Kujawa, IT Manager of Frigo Logistics.
They have both hands free, their eyesight
was relieved by the hearing and speech,
and the whole worker’s concentration was
focused on the picking process. As a result,
from the employee’s point of view his work
is more pleasurable, while increasing its
productivity and quality.

• software running on mobile terminals (mobile computers)
• communications software installed on the server providing data exchange
between the terminals and Gaspol’s information systems (Microsoft
Dynamics AX)
• mobile fiscal printers.
The system of gas cylinders deliveries at Gaspol is fully automated now. Orders
from customers are entered into the program Axapta, converted into commis-
sions and then automatically distributed among the drivers (salesmen) and sent
to their mobile terminals. SKK mobile system allows receiving orders and full re
gistration of sale at the level ofterminals. Each mobile terminal is equipped with a
barcode reader and module of mobile network. Data transmission takes place via
the GSM network, what allows communicating from anywhere in Poland. Each
vendor has a mobile terminal and a fiscal printer, by means of which he can pre-
pare and print receipts, invoices and documents of issued goods.
The solution is combined with satellite navigation and uses Automapa. It helps
the driver to choose the most optimal route to reach the client.
All data documenting the execution of orders and sales in real-time stream
down back from the terminals to the internal ERP Axapta system, which is used
by Gaspol company.
SKK delivered the mobile terminals, printers and licenses of applications for
350 field representatives of Gaspol.
This is a very good solution supporting the work of sales department in many
different areas. Thanks to the system we have greater control over stocks, gas
supplies, execution of orders and the whole distribution process. Our vendors
have updated information about prices and inventory levels of our clients. All
information is instantly updated and complete data on the size and structure of
the sale are available at any time on-line, what provides additional support for
financial settlements - says Marek Rudnik, sales manager of cylinders depart-
ment at Gaspol.

→→ Faster execution of individual tasks
→→ Increase in comfort of employees work
To ensure correctness and efficiency of picking products process, L’Oreal
Poland Sp. z.o.o. asked SKK S.A. company to carry out an adequate implementa-
tion in the distribution center in Błonie near Warsaw.
SKK proposed a solution which combines the capabilities of Intermec CK31 hand-
held terminals, Intermec SF51 external barcode readers and Intermec CV30 fork-
lift terminals.
The Intermec CK31 has a mechanical resistance, it can operates in the harshest
weather conditions, is made with attention to ergonomics and its ability of bar
codes reading in any orientation means that workers do not have to strain their
wrists to set the scanner parallel to the bar code.
The Intermec SF51 are easy-to-use readers, which - after reading bar code of
the product, allow to free a hand and place the product on a pallet. The scanner
reads one-dimensional bar codes, has the option of reading PDF bar codes as
well as damaged and soiled ones. It is also equipped with Bluetooth for wireless
connectivity.
Mounted on forklifts taking pallets, the Intermec CV30 forklift terminals have
been combined into a system that communicates with a radio network based on
Cisco. Their design allows it to be installed on virtually any surface and their small
size improve the forklift drivers safety by improving visibility.
SKK was also engaged in the integration of supplied equipment - readers and
terminals – with SAP / R3 system. Part of that system is the WM module, which
supports the management of the warehouse processes. L’Oreal’s warehouse op-
erations are possible just thanks to the fitting of handheld and forklift terminals
with barcode scanners.
In addition, SKK provided Smart System software, which makes it easier for
the administrator to manage the terminals remotely (via radio network) and
SKK Starter installed on the terminals and facilitating the operator to navigate in
Windows Mobile system.

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Mistakes elimination
→→ Efficient identification of elements taken to the warehouse
→→ Efficient search for components issued for the production
→→ Uniform, easily readable, leaving no traces labelling
→→ Time reduction in carrying out of warehouse operations
Right from the very beginning of its activity in Poland, the company has been
focused on cooperation with local partners. Specialized subcontractors perform
for its components to the individual machines (cutted by laser, machined, welded
etc.).
Constantly increasing amounts of made elements bred the need for their pro-
fessional labelling (previously the elements had not been marked or had been
marked manually) and their efficient identification. For this purpose ITM Poland
decided to implement a system based on bar codes. This task was commissioned
to the SKK S.A. company.
The solutions developed by SKK includes:
• Portable terminals of Intermec company
• Label Printers - Datamax
• Dedicated application for label printing
• Specialized labels and ribbons for printers.
After analyzing the needs of ITM Poland the specialists from SKK offered the
specialized labels made of plastic - Removable Label White. This material in-
creased strength properties and is resistant to many chemicals and mild acids.
Produced by SKK these labels are completely covered with removable adhesive.
Printers with the supplied application work at ITM’s subcontractors. Cooper-
ants mark ready components specialized labels printed on the basis of data sent
bythe ITM Poland, according to prepared template. During receiving to the ware-
house bar codes from labels are read by means of mobile terminals, hence the
made elements are quickly and appropriately arranged in the warehouse. Their
finding and identification is no longer a problem and time of taking parts from
the warehouse has been diminished considerably. When assembling machines
the labels are removed from the elements and there remains no trace after them.

aged from one place using Cisco WLSE (Wireless LAN Solution Network) soft-
ware.
The wireless network covers all external storage yards, warehouses and pro-
duction buildings. In addition, in some locations the connection of distant ware-
house buildings by means of wireless links was required.
After the end of the radio network implementation, SKK carried out the train-
ing for the staff of Ustronianka, also provided technical support and customer
care concerning the warranty and service for the installed solutions.
Currently, all operations take place within the confines of the radio network.
Each product leaving the production line is provided with a bar code that allows
to identify it later and obtain all necessary information, e.g. concerning the date
of production, which is extremely important for food products.
SKK is a good partner for cooperation. All works have been done on time and
professionally. The company was fully prepared to comprehensive execution
of work in the field of radio networks - appraises Chief Information Officer -
Krzysztof Goliński.

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Faster loading and unloading of goods
→→ Time saving and financial savings
→→ Mistakes elimination
→→ Significantly fewer complaints
→→ Improvement in receiving of customers returns
We chose SKK offer mainly due to the innovation of the proposed solution - says
Tomasz Mikuła - head of IT at Gordon.
The mobile system implemented by SKK is based on the authorial SKK Smart
application working in this case on portable terminals Honeywell 6100. 60 drivers
have been equipped with the terminals together with the application. Using WiFi
network the drivers take the transport documents with destination addresses for
individual parcels. Reading and verification of the parcels is carried out at the place
of destination during transferring ordered goods.
The system also allows the optimization oftransport, some ofthe goods are tran-
shipped at branches or contact points of different routes. In this way the company
saves on time and costs of deliveries. Using the system, the logistics department
has accurate information who, when and at which of the consignments received
each of the ordered goods, and where and when it was delivered.
The new system eliminated mistakes whereby significantly increased the quality
of transports service and accelerated their execution and thus decreased our costs,
and our customers are more contented - says Tomasz Mikuła - head of IT at Gordon.

→→ Meeting the high requirements of customers
→→ Central management of production processes
→→ Automation of all processes
→→ Higher quality and accuracy in labelling of finished products
→→ Error-free identification of all production components
→→ Increase in performance of production
Hilding Anders Poland Sp. z.o.o. decided to implement in its factory a modern
manufacturing technology that uses automatic identification systems based on
the bar codes and the radio tags operating in the UHF band.
The combination of these both technologies into one solution of the production
process control is a pioneering idea for this kind of industrial plants.
The implementation of these demanding tasks was entrusted to Cracow com-
pany - SKK S.A.
SKK offered, delivered and implemented the system with all equipment and
supplies. The system includes:
• Microscan industrial barcode scanners to identify the foam blocks trans-
ported to the production stations;
•	 Toshiba RFID tags printers for programming tags sticked to the mattresses;
• Raflatac UPC Gen 2 radio tags for marking mattresses in compliance with
EPC Class 1 Gen 2 ISO 000-6C 18 Standard;
•	 Intermec RFID readers to identify tags on mattresses;
• Automatic labelling devices designed by SKK engineers on basis of the
Intermec industrial printers both for mattresses marking and labelling of
logistic pallets with finished goods.
Delivered by SKK the equipment and supplies, especially their installation and
implementation services should be assessed very highly. Implemented bar codes
and RFID technologies are perfectly known SKK engineers and their experience
allowed for professional approach to many issues during system implementa-
tion. I’m very satisfied with the collaboration with SKK - emphasizes the Head of
Technical Department and the supervisor of the project - Dawid Majchrzak.

Production automation
Products labelling
BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ The reliability of the labelling system at the level of 99%
→→ No downtimes of production line and its high performance
→→ Easy of use labelling stations
→→ Improvement in the aesthetics of packaging
At the beginning of 2006 in a competition the Saint-Gobain Isover Poland
Sp. z.o.o. company chose the SKK S.A. as a supplier of labelling stations. That
choice resulted from several reasons:
• SKK proposed a solution fitted to customer’s needs
• SKK ensured a high standard of service
• Proposed solution was based on reliable and easy-to-use Mectec devices
• SKK’s offer was attractive with regard to price
There were installed two labelling stations in Gliwice factory.
At first station the rollers and packages of mineral wool are labeled. Specially
designed automatic applicators for operation in harsh industrial environments
24 hours a day, 7 days a week were equal to the high requirements imposed by
Saint-Gobain Isover Poland.
In addition, the reliability of the labelling stations has been increased by installing
the configuration of two devices operating in Master-Slave system. Thanks to
that the continuity of the labeling is maintained even when there is a necessity of
downtimes in order to replenish supplies (labels and ribbon). In case of switching
off or failure one of the machines the second one takes over its task automatic
ally.
At the second station, located at the end of the production line, pallets are
labeled. Applicator prints and applied 2 labels on pallets. Later these labels are
used in warehouse management.
Installation of a labelling system for Saint-Gobain Isover Poland by SKK is
a properly executed project and reliable service. Special words of appreciation are
due to the implementation team for an innovative and flexible approach to the
subject. Discussions and joint problems solving, arising from the specifics of our
production has brought results in the form of a labelling system built according to
our expectations. I congratulate the company such specialists. Project manager
from Saint-Gobain Isover Poland - Jerzy Ross-Żółkiewicz.

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION:
→→ Increase in the productivity of warehouse
→→ Better quality and efficiency of production management
→→ Control of trade in goods
→→ Coherence of data and terminology within the system
The increasing demands of its customers Ceramika Color Sp. z.o.o. meets by
investments in technological development - using raw materials and semi-fin-
ished products of the highest quality for the production, as well as technical de-
velopment – by the modernization of the existing machine park and investments
in new equipment. As a part of development a global standard of logistic units’
labelling was implemented at the plant, in compliance with GS1.
SKK S.A., as a one of the few companies from its line of business, provided full
service for all planned investments of Ceramika Color.
In the first stage of the investment SKK realized:
• Installation of labels print stations (application with a certificate of compli-
ance GS1), integrated with the ERP system
• Construction of economical insular radio network
• Implementation ofthe WMS, using a mobile application SKK Smart (applica-
tion with a certificate of compliance GS1).
In the next phase of the investment there were carried out:
• Installation of automatic labelling systems integrated with production auto-
matics (a line with the palletizers and conveyors) - marking the GS1 logistic
labels (CC, CK and SG plants)
• Expansion of the radio network in the CC plant and the transition to mobile
work on-line
• Implementation of WMS in CK and SG plants.
The implementation of the GS1 logistic label in CC stands out the use of 2D
Datamatrix bar code. The 2D label is a carrier of additional information – among
others, the in-plant product bar code and the name of the product. This causes
that all information about the contents of the pallet and the characteristics of the
product are available without communication with the native system.
The use of GS1 labels with unique SSCC number ensures full tracking of logistic
carriers from their formation, by in-plant trading of goods and storage, loading,
trading in logistic centers until their delivery to the final customer.
The execution of a long-term, multidis-
ciplinary, information technology projects
so that not to disrupt the current produc-
tion and adapt to the dynamic develop-
ment of our company is not an easy task.
SKK company proved itself here. From
the perspective of several years cooper-
ation I am glad that we placed our trust
in the partner with high competences in
its field and implementation experience”

  • 3. Why SKK? We are a team of experts in the field of processes automation and optimization. For over twenty years, we have been advising our partners on how to increase efficiency and competitiveness of en- terprises conducted by them. We provide solu- tions that are a unique combination of the latest technologies together with the experience and knowledge from such fields as warehouse logist ics, production, labelling and identification of goods, mobile work, networks. Our customers can always count on our sup- port, including technical and service, supported by broad competences. We have cooperated and still we have been developing the cooperation with companies from varied industries: automot ive, transport, building, metallurgical, electronic, pharmaceutical, FMCG, financial and many others.
  • 4. 4 // www.skkglobal.com // Logistics automation at Kampol-Fruit Sp. z.o.o. Kampol-Fruit Sp. z.o.o. ranks to a leading Polish compa- nies of fruit and vegetable processing. The company was founded in 1992, is headquartered in Biała Rawska and the production plant in Nasielsk. Another plant combined with a modern sorting department, press and cold store came into existence in Milejów. Kampol-Fruit specializes in the production of frozen food from the local seasonal fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and herbs, as well as concentrates and fruit and vegetable purees. Currently, annual produc- tion includes more than 80 thousands tons of products. OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Modernization of logistic processes →→ Introduction of bar codes for product identification and warehouse service →→ Ensuring compliance with international standards in the range of distribution
  • 5. 5// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Faster receiving, labelling and issuing the goods →→ Less labor-intensive service of the warehouse →→ Control of the supply chain →→ Significant reduction of human errors →→ Precise identification of products →→ Reduction of operating costs In the way of dynamic development Kampol-Fruit Sp.z.o.o. opened a modern freezer room equipped with sliding shelves of new generation in Milejów. The next stage would had been the implementation of a system which streamlines all warehouse operations, including the goods labelling. After analysis of the solutions available on the market, the company de cided to choose a comprehensive system of SKK S.A. company which includes: • SKK Smart, advanced software, registering the movement of raw materials and goods, • Specialized printer for printing the locational labels on goods, • Portable terminals equipped with bar code readers, • Wireless network enabling data transmission through the radio. SKK Smart registers all stages of goods in trade quickly and accurately. From the supply of raw material by farmers, through its sorting, classification, entry and exit from the production line, until placing the finished product in freezer room and issuing to the warehouse. Individual operations at the levels of produc- tion, storage and distribution take place through the agency of bar codes - by bar code scanning from the goods by means of mobile terminals. Previously these operations were carried out manually - with use of paper documentation. SKK Smart software is equipped with Web Transfer - a data exchange module, which enables communication between the terminals and the internal informa- tion system of Kampol-Fruit - Symfonia. Thanks to that, the data scanned from the terminals are sent through the radio to the Symfonia program automatic ally. The reverse process is accomplished similarly. Each command commissioned from the ERP system is displayed on the terminals in the warehouse. At each of the stages all goods are labeled with specialized labels containing bar codes. As a part of the supplied solution Kampol-Fruit can print location labels, which indicate the place of storage in the warehouse and logistic labels which identify individual products. These labels use the international standard GS1. On this basis, it is possible to trace the entire supply chain from the entry of raw material to the warehouse until its purchase by the customer (so-called traceability). This is particularly important in the food industry and is governed by the relevant provisions. Warehouse logistics support Network systems Products labelling

In the case of banks the security of the data and information entrusted to them by clients and their appropriate archiving are particularly important. OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Streamlining the circulation of bank documents →→ Clear-cut identification and fast documents reading
  • 7. 7// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY Cooperation with SKK S.A. proceeds ex- emplarily. There are no delays in deliveries to our branches throughout the country, despite that occur orders of supplies with very short lead time (48 hours). Equip- ment failure frequency is extremely low - at this moment we have more than 1,500 Honeywell 3800g readers and we regis- tered 7 failures so far. Each of the service notifications was accepted, and the fault eliminated within 48 hours in the place of equipment installation (network of over 130 branches all over the Poland) - says Mikołaj Białota, IT Specialist from the Team of Hardware Platforms in the Department of Systems and Applications Development at Alior Bank. Trade support Service BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Faultless registration of paper documents →→ Bar codes reading from even poorly printed or damaged documents →→ Efficient verification and data archiving in the databases ofthe bank →→ Minimizing the costs of paper documentation handling Taking care of exceptional standard of service and the highest quality of cus- tomer service Alior Bank uses innovative technological solutions in its branches. One of them is the use of bar code readers for the identification of documents provided by Cracow company SKK S.A. It is a solution that significantly improves the employees’ work as well. Alior Bank’s decision about the choice of SKK to prepare this implementation resulted from the high assessment of the reliability and experience of Cracow company. Alior Bank described his expectations precisely. Devices had to meet high standards, of which the most important were the functionality and appearance. Requirements concerned, among others, the following parameters: guarantee period of 36 months, repair (replacement) of the device within 48 hours from the receipt of service notification anywhere in Poland, the possibility of automatic operation without manual trigger, communication interface: USB, compliance with CE standards and making available the readers for tests. After the market analysis and carried out tests of devices, the Honeywell 3800g reader was selected. There were evaluated among other things: efficacy of bar codes reading, reading bar codes of poor quality, speed and distance of reading. The Honeywell 3800g reader is the best device in its class. Its advantages are mainly durability, ergonomics and communication. What’s more - the reader al- lows reading many different bar codes, even damaged or poorly printed ones. It is reliable and guarantees error-free reading. Furthermore, the device is small and lightweight, which provides comfort and labor productivity. In addition, the Honeywell 3800g reader (diode) has no the built-in movable elements for read- ing, as opposed to laser readers, what makes it much more resistant to mechan ical damages and shock-proof. Within the cooperation the SKK company delivered the readers with an ex- tended warranty period (60 months) and maintenance services fortheAlior Bank.

  • 9. 9// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Reduction in the cost of collective finished products marking →→ Elimination of paper documents connected with picking the consignments and issues for production →→ Execution of occurrences and transactions in real time →→ Significant reduction of human errors →→ Increase in the speed of entering data into the computer system Due to the dynamic development of Polpharma SA, the management of com- pany decided to implement an integrated management system - Oracle E-Busi- ness Suite. One of the elements in this system is the Oracle WMS - high storage warehouse management module, to which SKK provided the innovative solu- tions increasing the effectivity of employees. Supplied by SKK the system is based on devices of the American company: Intermec, equipped with certificate of compliance with Oracle. We were looking for company with experience, which could adjust its proposals to the already in- stalled system. Loftware software for printers, which uses SKK had been proven by Oracle’s experts before - explains the director of logistics in the company - Wojciech Kisielnicki. This software enables the labels design, the control of labels printing on many printers, and most importantly full communication with Oracle E-Business Suite. Provided by SKK the system is fully compliant with the international standard of labeling - EAN-UCC. The labels printing system consists of two parts: the off-line labels printing system on collective cardboard boxes and pallets with finished products and on- line labels printing system integrated with Oracle WMS application - specifies Wojciech Kisielnicki. Places of locations in the warehouse are marked with a num- ber expressed in the form of bar code. Bulk packaging are marked with logistic la- bels containing, among others, identifier of goods, batch number, quantity, SSCC number (Serial Shipping Container Code). The warehouse management system distributes the tasks and automatically sends commands to a defined operator of forklift truck. Using terminals, the employees read bar codes and an information about carrying out the command goes to the system in this way. After ended task, the software determines next command to take the product from the nearest part of the warehouse. The hu- man’s role comes down to handling the terminal. SKK won the competition for the best offer thanks to that it presented the most comprehensive offer. • 10. 10 // www.skkglobal.com // Radio communication in warehouses of PSB Group SA PSB Group SA is the largest and fastest growing network of building materials wholestoles and stores “home and garden” type. PSB has over 400 building depots, nearly 200 PSB-Mrówka shops and 34 PSB-Profi shopping cen- ters operating throughout the Poland. The warehouses and Mrówka shops employ a total of about 11 thousand people. The company’s headquarter is in Wełecz near Busko-Zdrój. There also is a Group Logistics Centre, which consists of warehouses, storage yards and office buildings. OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Radio network construction →→ Warehouse equipment with hardware for marking and barcode reading →→ Implementation of warehouse management system
  • 11. 11// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ On-line access to always current stocks →→ Increase in the accuracy and efficiency of warehousemen work →→ Secure communication In orderto improve the warehouse service PSB Group was looking for a partner who will not only provide radio devices, but most of all will design the network, implement a solution, provide all other equipment, conduct tests and will be providing technical support services after the implementation. We chose SKK among many bidders because it had the best recommendations and we were not disappointed – says Jarosław Lenczowski, a computer scientist from the IT Department of PSB Group. Prior to the construction of the network SKK specialists performed measure- ments of waves propagation. The aim of the measurements was selection of the optimal solution, determination the number of access points (AP) and final prepa- ration of the project. SKK experts designed network, delivered and installed the radio access points. According to the assumption, the radio network covered the reach of all ware- house buildings, including the building of high-storage warehouse and the outer area between the buildings, i.e. vehicular roads and external storage yard. On the occasion of network implementation for the storage system the client decided to extend the network coverage for the office area. Providing wireless coverage over such a vast and diverse area required the use of several network technolo- gies. SKK also proposed and provided 22 radio terminals for the system. On termin als the PSB warehousemen perform warehouse operations such as receipting and issuing of goods, stocktaking or picking on-line. SKK supplied and installed a dozen or so the stationary and mobile printers for printing labels on the received goods, assembled in the warehouse and ready for shipping. The co-operation with SKK was very good. The network works flawlessly. In the future we plan its expansion with additional mobile devices. Choice of SKK as a supplier was right on the mark - states Jarosław Lenczowski. Network systems Warehouse logistics support Products labelling

  • 13. 13// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY Production automation Products labelling Service BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Fast labelling process involving fewer employees →→ Full control of picking →→ Greater efficiency and labour productivity →→ Decrease of costs →→ Reduction of mistakes In orderto streamline the process of identifying production , as well as to adapt to the demands of contractors, Swisspor Polska Sp. z o.o. decided to implement the line for automatic products labelling - proposed by the SKK company. This solution consists of the label applicator, the Mectec printer and the accessories necessary for the system functioning. Automatic label applicators have modular construction. They consist of the printing module, the applicating one and the accessories. They are modern and efficient devices for use in industrial environments. Applied inside them the trays for the labels and ribbon (450 metres), allow unattended operating for many hours. Printers of applicators are equipped with fast processors which make possible the print of succeeding labels with new data. The ability of communication with devices in many ways (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB) enables easy integration in a manner dependent on the application requirements. Durability and fail safety of devices are provided by casings and actuators of applicators made of the highest quality materials such as stainless steel, hardened aluminum or impact-resistant plastic. The devices are adjusted for con- tinuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By using branded components derived from the best suppliers, users have as- sured access to spare parts worldwide. The first line for automatic production labelling was launched in Swisspor’s production plant in Międzyrzecze in 2006 by SKK. Currently, the system of products automatic labelling (8 automated lines) operates in all four Swisspor’s production plants in Poland. SKK is a reliable company. Our cooperation with SKK is very successful and brings the desired results. SKK’s experts carried out the installation of equipment quickly and efficiently. • 14. 14 // www.skkglobal.com // The Jagiellonian University modernizes the stocktaking The university, like other public institutions and commer- cial companies must conduct periodic inventories. In the case of the Jagiellonian University the stocktaking is a sub- stantial challenge because hundreds of thousands of ob- jects are subject to inventory. OBJECTIVES OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Streamlining the process of stocktaking →→ Interoperability of a new solution with the university management system (SAP)
  • 15. 15// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY Products labelling Service BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Efficient and less time-consuming process of stocktaking →→ Possibility of carrying out several inventories at the same time →→ Adapting the application to the individual needs of the university →→ Time and cost savings →→ Elimination of errors in the inventory committees In order to streamline the listing process of the university’s property, its authori ties decided to implement - proposed by SKK S.A. – the solution consisting of the Honeywell Dolphin 6100 terminals and SKK Smart application. HoneywellDolphin6100mobilecomputerisasmartandreliabledeviceequipped with a scanner that reads two-dimensional (2D) and standard one-dimensional (1D) bar codes, it allows reading bar codes with any orientation, as well as creating pho- tographic documentation. There are displayed the messages on the screen of scan- ner which indicate the irregularities during the inventory. Its additional advantage is the ability of conducting several inventories at the same time (for several units). The terminal enables data exchange with SAP within the whole area covered by the wireless network (all units of the JU), and in addition the user is guaranteed a secure storage (security in the non-volatile memory or on removable media). The integrated radio with 802.11 b/g standard provides the users a connectivity with the information system of the university and access to necessary data while ensuring high security of transmission. SKK Smart is a simple to implement software dedicated for mobile computers equipped with bar code readers (e.g. Dolphin 6100). The application allows to document the inventory by registration of bar codes, which are on the items and objects. Thanks to that the work with the application eliminates the necessity of a labor-intensive documenting the operations using paper lists. It is worth adding that the SKK Smart cooperates, on the basis of data exchange data, with SAP – the integrated management system used by the Jagiellonian University. As a part of cooperation SKK also conducted the trainings for Jagiellonian University’s employees and signed 3-year contract with the university for an ex- panded warranty covering software and hardware. • 17. 17// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY Warehouse logistics support BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Increase of picking efficiency →→ Improvement of work ergonomics and safety →→ Improved quality of carried out work →→ Reduction in the cost of quality control →→ Significant reduction of mistakes amount Logistics of frozen foods belongs to very specific sector of industry. Starting from the loading of the goods at the manufacturer’s, through the warehousing until the deliveryto a retailer, food must be stored properly. Work in freezer room is very difficult for both people and devices. In 2011, Frigo Logistics set itself the goal of improvement the picking process. The optimal solution proved to be the Vocollect voice system, which implementa- tion has been commissioned the SKK S.A. and Quantum companies. SKK provided 60 sets of voice terminals and an authorial software which task is to convert the data from the warehouse management system (WMS) for indi- vidual successive actions to perform. The software is also responsible for the way of communication between the operator and the voice system. The set consists of a terminal pinned to the belt, the software generating a speech in Polish and headphones with a microphone pinned to the helmet. After logging to the WMS the operator receives to his terminal an assignment of a conveyor (of a pallet) destined to him for the picking. Then the warehouse management software sends to the voice terminal the individual positions for picking. Voice system software “translates” them into Polish and tells the oper ator to which location he has to go. After reaching the indicated place a ware- house worker confirms (by means of the determined command) a readiness to taking the product. The voice from the terminal passes on to the operator the information about the product and the quantity to be taken. In answer the worker confirmes the actual taken quantities, along with the control in relation to the commissioned amount both for the plus and for minus. The operation is performed cyclically until com- pleting all items of the pallet. The last task is to provide the pallet on an appropri- ate accumulation field and to stick a logistic label. At any moment the worker has to his disposal a number of keywords which enable the device polling with regard to essential information. Frigo Logistics is pleased with cooperation with the SKK, implemented innov ations and considers the possibility of service for other processes using the voice system. Initially the workers were approach- ing the new solution warily. Now they are satisfied. Having a choice a standard ter- minal (bar codes scanner) and a voice one, they choose the second one - says Jacek Kujawa, IT Manager of Frigo Logistics. They have both hands free, their eyesight was relieved by the hearing and speech, and the whole worker’s concentration was focused on the picking process. As a result, from the employee’s point of view his work is more pleasurable, while increasing its productivity and quality.

SKK proposed a solution which combines the capabilities of Intermec CK31 hand- held terminals, Intermec SF51 external barcode readers and Intermec CV30 fork- lift terminals. The Intermec CK31 has a mechanical resistance, it can operates in the harshest weather conditions, is made with attention to ergonomics and its ability of bar codes reading in any orientation means that workers do not have to strain their wrists to set the scanner parallel to the bar code. The Intermec SF51 are easy-to-use readers, which - after reading bar code of the product, allow to free a hand and place the product on a pallet. The scanner reads one-dimensional bar codes, has the option of reading PDF bar codes as well as damaged and soiled ones. It is also equipped with Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. Mounted on forklifts taking pallets, the Intermec CV30 forklift terminals have been combined into a system that communicates with a radio network based on Cisco. Their design allows it to be installed on virtually any surface and their small size improve the forklift drivers safety by improving visibility. SKK was also engaged in the integration of supplied equipment - readers and terminals – with SAP / R3 system. Part of that system is the WM module, which supports the management of the warehouse processes. L’Oreal’s warehouse op- erations are possible just thanks to the fitting of handheld and forklift terminals with barcode scanners. In addition, SKK provided Smart System software, which makes it easier for the administrator to manage the terminals remotely (via radio network) and SKK Starter installed on the terminals and facilitating the operator to navigate in Windows Mobile system. • 23. 23// www.skkglobal.com // CASESTUDY BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTATION: →→ Mistakes elimination →→ Efficient identification of elements taken to the warehouse →→ Efficient search for components issued for the production →→ Uniform, easily readable, leaving no traces labelling →→ Time reduction in carrying out of warehouse operations Right from the very beginning of its activity in Poland, the company has been focused on cooperation with local partners. Specialized subcontractors perform for its components to the individual machines (cutted by laser, machined, welded etc.). Constantly increasing amounts of made elements bred the need for their pro- fessional labelling (previously the elements had not been marked or had been marked manually) and their efficient identification. For this purpose ITM Poland decided to implement a system based on bar codes. This task was commissioned to the SKK S.A. company. The solutions developed by SKK includes: • Portable terminals of Intermec company • Label Printers - Datamax • Dedicated application for label printing • Specialized labels and ribbons for printers. After analyzing the needs of ITM Poland the specialists from SKK offered the specialized labels made of plastic - Removable Label White. This material in- creased strength properties and is resistant to many chemicals and mild acids. Produced by SKK these labels are completely covered with removable adhesive. Printers with the supplied application work at ITM’s subcontractors. Cooper- ants mark ready components specialized labels printed on the basis of data sent bythe ITM Poland, according to prepared template. During receiving to the ware- house bar codes from labels are read by means of mobile terminals, hence the made elements are quickly and appropriately arranged in the warehouse. Their finding and identification is no longer a problem and time of taking parts from the warehouse has been diminished considerably. When assembling machines the labels are removed from the elements and there remains no trace after them. Products labelling Warehouse logistics support

As a part of development a global standard of logistic units’ labelling was implemented at the plant, in compliance with GS1. SKK S.A., as a one of the few companies from its line of business, provided full service for all planned investments of Ceramika Color. In the first stage of the investment SKK realized: • Installation of labels print stations (application with a certificate of compli- ance GS1), integrated with the ERP system • Construction of economical insular radio network • Implementation ofthe WMS, using a mobile application SKK Smart (applica- tion with a certificate of compliance GS1). In the next phase of the investment there were carried out: • Installation of automatic labelling systems integrated with production auto- matics (a line with the palletizers and conveyors) - marking the GS1 logistic labels (CC, CK and SG plants) • Expansion of the radio network in the CC plant and the transition to mobile work on-line • Implementation of WMS in CK and SG plants. The implementation of the GS1 logistic label in CC stands out the use of 2D Datamatrix bar code. The 2D label is a carrier of additional information – among others, the in-plant product bar code and the name of the product. This causes that all information about the contents of the pallet and the characteristics of the product are available without communication with the native system. The use of GS1 labels with unique SSCC number ensures full tracking of logistic carriers from their formation, by in-plant trading of goods and storage, loading, trading in logistic centers until their delivery to the final customer. The execution of a long-term, multidis- ciplinary, information technology projects so that not to disrupt the current produc- tion and adapt to the dynamic develop- ment of our company is not an easy task. SKK company proved itself here. From the perspective of several years cooper- ation I am glad that we placed our trust in the partner with high competences in its field and implementation experience” - appraises Paweł Knap – Warehouse Manager, Project Manager.
