Patriot League Announces Men’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll
162 student-athletes receive Honor Roll recognition
Center Valley, Pa. – Patriot League schools combined to place 162 student-athletes on the Men's Lacrosse Academic Honor
Roll announced on Thursday, with Bucknell leading the way with 29 honorees.
Four student-athletes delivered a 4.0 grade point average, including a pair from Loyola Maryland in Jared Mintzlaff and Chris
Myers. Bucknell’s Mike Schiappa and Lehigh’s Cody Triolo also had 4.0 GPAs. Eight members of the Academic All-League team
announced in April also earned honor roll status this spring.
Bucknell’s Sam Grinberg, the 2015 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete, made the Academic honor roll for the fourth
time as did teammate Mike Ondrusek, Holy Cross’ Clay Haarmann and Tyler Purdue, Lafayette’s Cory Scheuerle and Lehigh’s
Klay Heston.
Following Bucknell’s 29 players earning Academic Honor Roll recognition was Colgate with 26, Loyola Maryland with 24 and
Army West Point with 19. Lafayette had 17 honorees and Holy Cross and Lehigh had 16 apiece.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and
participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
“Today’s Scholar-Athletes, Tomorrow’s Leaders” – The Patriot League continually demonstrates that student-athletes can excel at
both academics and athletics without sacrificing its high standards. The Patriot League’s athletic success is achieved while its
member institutions remain committed to its founding principle of admitting and graduating student-athletes that are
academically representative of their class. Participation in athletics at Patriot League institutions is viewed as an important
component of a well-rounded education.
