  11. DevOps Center When organizations grow rapidly, so does the need for governed release management that allows for easy stakeholder participation. With DevOps Center, admins and other declarative developers can build against source control, collaborate better with programmatic developers, release apps faster, and do so with modern workflows like continuous integration and delivery. Learn more on admin blog. Code Builder Code Builder is a new, web-based dev environment optimized for Salesforce and powered by Microsoft’s Visual Studio Codespaces. Read more about Code Builder on the developer blog and learn about more new capabilities for developer productivity in our newsroom post. Functions As business demands grow, so does the need to build end-to-end experiences that can scale elastically. Salesforce Functions is a service that lets developers write code that can integrate with their data and events on the Salesforce Platform, and run it on-demand with elastic scale in a serverless environment. Users get the flexibility to innovate using languages such as Node.js, Java, and Apex, while taking full advantage of open source ecosystems. They can quickly build, test and debug Functions locally using the Salesforce Developer Experience (SFDX) tools. Previously announced at Dreamforce ’19, Evergreen Functions is now renamed Salesforce Functions to make it easier for customers to understand our products and how they fit together. Evergreen as a brand name will be discontinued going forward, but will remain as the name for the underlying runtime.

The LowCodeLove: From Dynamic Experience to Walkthroughs covers some of the new low code features and tools for Admins, specifically around what is new in Summer ‘20 such as Dynamic forms & Actions and In-App Guidance. This session was presented by Shubhankar Viragi, Farhan Tahir, and Tim Dubois. New in Summer ‘20, you can try out dynamic forms and actions. With Dynamic forms and actions you can customize pages to give create personal experiences and you can easily migrate existing forms. This was the #1 most-requested feature on the IdeaExchange. With Dynamic forms you can transform static data into intuitive experiences by hiding and showing fields when necessary. Often records will have a lot of information- all of which is necessary, but when you are in a time crunch it can be difficult to find the information you need fast. Dynamic forms means you use visibility rules on fields to show what is relevant, which will Increase your end-users’ productivity by placing fields in intuitive, easy to find places. And save you time by building less unique pages for specific functions. It’s important to remember that change management isn’t always about the technology. It’s about the people too. Let’s talk about In-App Guidance & walkthroughs. With In-App Guidance you, the Salesforce admin, can create contextual in-app learning created with clicks. That means you can create a docked prompt- one that stays in place, or a floating prompt- one that appears anywhere on the page- to give users information about what do, information, or places to learn more. Simply put you can use in-app guidance to help your users on-board faster, and learn about new features. In-App Guidance is built into the platform, no security issues or performance impacts. And if you have a walk through that is very close to another one you need to create, you can clone it and customize it for those users. All of the Guidance you create is fully translatable, packable and reportable via custom reports.

The Digitize Your Business Fast with Automation session covers some of the new automation features in Flow for Summer 20 around Flow Triggers, as well as reso New in Summer 20 for Flows is the ability to trigger flows on a record change or update, as well as triggering a flow on a schedule or platform event. Schedule triggers are good for flows you want to run regularly or frequently. With Einstein Next Best Action you can add point-and-click decisioning support to your automations and processes. Decisioning support allows you to gather all the sources of insight from your org to generate recommendations about which flows should run and what work should be done next. Not only can you use Einstein Next Best Action to inform your activities but those actions of your users as well. Coming in Winter ‘20 to Flow is the ability to have multi-column screens, in fact you can have up to 12 columns. This means you can have multiple fields on the same row, images next to fields, and blank columns can be used to achieve extra layout precision. And you can combine this with dynamic field visibility to have powerful scripting applications. And the Auto-layout mode means that building flows is even easier. With Auto Layout mode the lines and connections are done for you and the layout is created. This should make flow building easier and more powerful than ever before. .
  15. Now let’s talk about how you can Build Reports Lighting Fast in the Lightning report builder. This session was presented by Ankita Dutta, Senior Product Manager, Einstein Analytics Experience and Anusha Surepeddi, Product Manager Director, Einstein Analytics And covers 3 important things you can do to build reports fast! First, Disable Preview when adding multiple fields or changing multiple fields on a report. You can toggle off the “Update Preview Automatically” to make editing fields faster. That means if you have multiple fields to move around or to add, preview won’t be refreshing in between each field you add. In addition to turning off “Update Preview Automatically”, you can quickly add fields by double clicking on them, rather than dragging and dropping them one by one. Once you are done adding all your fields, now click the refresh button to see your revised report. In addition to building reports faster by disabling preview you can help your users consume information faster by adding summary formulas. Summary formulas help you sum up based on different types, products, or other fields so that you can understand data in the report for instance like case volume by month. Row level formulas help you understand or compare data for each level of the report. In the instance that Anusha provides we can run a report where we check to see if Billing and Shipping addresses match. With a row level formulas there are a few restrictions. Right now you can only have 1 row level formula per report. And when you are creating that row-level formula you can only reference up to 5 fields. Coming Beta in Winter ‘21 is auto add fields to report types. This means, that when a new field is created it’s auto added to all associated report types.
  16. Security is at the core of everything an Admin does, so let’s cover the session “Introducing Security Command Center”, presented by John Whelan, Director, Product Marketing. To begin, let’s first remember that security is a partnership. Salesforce views this as a partnership with you. And it’s important to remember to use a layered security strategy starting with physical security all the way to data security. You can think of this as “Defense in Depth” and it’s much like the layers of an onion with data security being at the core. Security Command Center is designed to be a simple way to manage security whether you have one org or multiple orgs. We give you a single pane of glass to view your security posture with Security Command Center. This means you gain unparalleled visibility into critical metrics. You can boost productivity with proactive alerts and quickly identify and eliminate security risks. With Security Command Center you can analyze trends so you can review your security posture over time. Right now Security Command Center is in beta. So contact your Account Executive for enrollment into the Beta program today.
  17. The final session in the Admin Channel was “Champion Productivity with Service Cloud” presented by Purvi Desai, Director Product Marketing Service Cloud. To get started and champion productivity with Service Cloud it’s important that you customize for each persona in your service center. At Salesforce we drive our core service experience with personas such as Case Solver, Expert Agent, and Team Leader. Identifying these personas helps you personalize layouts, apps, and contextually show and hide content with conditional visibility (as you learned about in the LowCodeLove Dynamic Forms session) to make each user productive by showing information when they need it. Developing these personas and meeting with your users is key. Regularly interactive with your users to understand which information is critical and understanding how they consume information from left to right can really help your agents drive a great customer experience. Key to a great experience is saving your agents time. You can reduce clicks on routine tasks with macros. Admins can easily create macros by asking your agents “What are your top 5 common actions or tickets that you face every day” And once you get a good list, dig deeper and figure out What Needs to happen? What Information is needed? Who needs to be involved? And how do you make it all happen with 1 click? Gathering that info will give you the requirements you need to build impactful, time saving macros. Coming in the Summer ‘20 release is Service Cloud Voice which is intelligent cloud telephony natively integrated inside of the Salesforce console. Now, you can take advantage of the productivity features we talked about in this session on the phone! There is a demo in the expo to learn more about Service Cloud Voice, and I highly recommend attendees check it out. In Field Service, Salesforce is excited to launch deep linking for the Field Service Mobile App. Field technicians rely on their mobile devices to perform complex tasks, and some of those tasks require them to navigate between multiple tabs, flows, or actions. With deep linking, you can send users directly to the right spot in the app.

From the notification, learners can either launch the Trailhead GO mobile app or go straight to Trailhead LIVE to watch a live-streamed or on-demand session. With weekly content releases, Trailhead is also delivering new resources to help companies and learners navigate the future of work, including how to Go Digital Fast, Develop a Virtual Business Strategy and How to Reopen Safely with Work.com.

  26. Work.com is a new family of Products built on top of the Lightning Platform to help companies reopen their businesses safely. These amazing apps like Employee Wellness Check, Shift Management, Contact Tracing, myTrailhead for Wellness, Emergency Response Management and Volunteer and Grants Management help companies manage crucial employee data and on today's session I will focus on on how you guys can build apps for the Workplace Command Center. The Command Center provides a cockpit, a single-pane-of-glass for a company to assess their business and reopen safely in the COVID-19 environment. You can think of it as a state of the art cockpit where Operations executives can make data-driven decisions based on real-time, tailored public health data, as well as private data about their company and employees. They can monitor employee wellness and training information, as well as track facilities preparedness and shift scheduling. Based on this information, they can act quickly to trigger the workflows and actions needed in order to resume business operations and re-open locations. From a Tech Perspective Command Center is a suite of Lightning Web Components on a Lightning Page that communicate with each other using Lightning Message Service and that help customers have this 360 degree view of their businesses Locations, the Employee Wellness, Capacity Planning and more. ISV Partners can really help extend the benefits of the Command Center even further by adding your apps Lightning Web Components that can not only show up side-by-side to the standard Salesforce Components of Work.com but also listen to the Lightning Message Service Channel fired by the Command Center application to show contextual information based on your applications use cases. Work.com is a Managed Package at its core which includes the Command Center, so all the Lightning Pages and Components that we saw before live inside this managed package created by Salesforce. And because Work.com collects sensitive employee data at its core Salesforce is proposing that customers will have their own Work.com Production Org How do I start developing my Work.com app right? So to have Work.com setup in your developer org for development you can either create a new Partner Developer Org or Partner Enterprise Edition org from your ISV PBO Environment Hub, and those orgs will be automatically created with the Work.com Permission Set License. You will then need to install the Work.com Managed Packages like Command Center and I am sharing the link to this page in the Developer Guide that has the Package installation link.
