PURPOSE OF CASE STUDY ON
• How to track and identify opportunities and threats in
the macro-environment.
• How to assess the importance of demographic,
economic, political and technological factors.
• How to sustain, survive and grow in the changing
business milieu.
INTRODUCTION
Apollo Tyre Ltd is the world's 17th biggest tyre
manufacturer.
It was founded in 1976. Its first plant was
commissioned in Perambra, Kerala.

CORPORATE STRATEGY
The strategic factor that the company satisfies is the
strength of having a wide range of products. They must be
able to continue to maintain many products varieties and
build on them efficiently. Using R & D to overcome the
problem of pasteurization as well as satisfying growing
global demand is not an easy task and hence requires time
and efficiency to meet the needs globally.
MARKETING STRATEGY
Apollo Tyres has plans on increasing their market share
significantly in the passenger vehicle segment in India
with the launch of the 4G range of tyres.
HUMAN RESOURCE STRATEGY
Human Resources ,the responsibility of developing robust
,human resource management systems and on Tapan Mitra's
able shoulders. He has been instrumental in establishing a
best‐in‐class performance management system, leadership
Development programme, market‐driven compensation
structures and a host of employee welfare and engagement
activities at Apollo. People integration, especially in cases of
mergers &acquisitions, is his area of excellence.

LIFE AT APOLLO
