2. FRAMES
The HTML frame is a powerful feature that enables a web page to be
broken into different unique sections that are related but can be
operated independently without depending on each other.
THE <Frameset> TAG
The splitting of a browser screen into frames can be done by using
<Frameset> and </Frameset> tags.
Framesets can be nested to any level and the concept is known as
nested frames.
3. ATTRIBUTES OF <Frameset> TAG
Rows: This attribute is used to divide the screen horizontally.
Cols: The attribute is used to divide the screen vertically.
Frameborder: Specifies whether or not to display a border
around a frame.
Name: Specifies the name of a frame.
Scrolling: Specifies whether or not to display scrollbars in a
frame.
Src: Specifies the URL of the document to show in a frame.
‘Note: The symbol * indicates the remaining space’
4. ADVANTAGES OF FRAMES
1. Lets the user to have multiple pages in the same browser.
2. Keeps one part of the page static while other parts of the page
can be changed.
3. The top frame can be used as a header.
4. They can be used to reduce the server load, as there is no need
to reload all the pages when ever a new page is visited.
5. DISADVANTAGES OF FRAMES
1. Search engine cannot deal with them properly.
2. Its hard to navigate through pages in frames when we have
more than two or three frames.
3. Its difficult to print the content of all the frames as compared to
normal web page.
4. Some browsers doesn’t support frames.
5. We cannot bookmark individual pages.
