Solar system: is the gravitationally bound system of the Sun
and the objects that orbit it.

4. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANETS
 They do not have light, but get light from the Sun.
 There about nine planets in the Solar System.
 Planets are spherical in shape.
 They revolve on their orbits around the Sun.
 Some planets have moons and some have none.
 They do not twinkle.
 They have low temperatures.

5. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STARS
 They have their own light, meaning they are self-
luminous.
 They are stationery.
 Their brightness and temperature differs according
to their colors, whereby blue stars are found to be
hot while red stars are coolest.
 There are about billions of stars in the Galaxy and
about 7000 stars can be seen by the naked eye.
 They have high temperatures ranging from 3000 ℃
to 50 000℃.

6. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MOON
 The moon has no light but gets light from the Sun.
 There are physical features like Mountains and hills on
the moon.
 There is less force of gravity on the moon.
 There is no water on the moon.
 The moon revolves around the Sun, together with their
planets.
 There is no life on the moon.
