TRAIN TICKETING SYSTEM.

3. INTRODUCTION:
Train ticketing system is the system which enable the passenger to take the
ticket any way in the world for journey proved there is internet. Under this
system the passengers will use the system very easy, the only things is to be
connected to the internet.
Under this system the passengers will login the system and then it enable to
view the following:
To view the site numbers and also the coach letters
To date of travelling and destinations with respective payment
To know the capacity of the luggage and parcels.
To view date of travelling and departure time.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS:
Under this analysis were based into two aspect;
i. Old system
The old system is the system which has been used in an
organization, for example in my field study (TRL) they use the manual
system to get the ticketing in which there were only one area(station)
were all passengers have to make for ticketing. Under this system is
somehow difficulty also it’s time wastage for passengers to have the
ticket. So due this it is the chance to come up with new system which
will reduced some of the disadvantages of old system which is manual
system. Old system it work under the following aspect

4. ii. New system.
New system will be able to remove all of the disadvantage in the old
system such as
a) Time wastage.
b) To remove manual work in the organization.
c) Wastage of time. People waste a lot of time on travel
along to area where there is station for ticketing.
d) Traffic on booking at station for ticketing.
OLD SYSTEM:
Old system it work under the following aspect;
Based on the passengers details:
i. Full name of the passengers.
ii. ID number
iii. Destination
iv. Date of travelling
v. Luggage and parcels passed by passengers(less than 20kg per
passenger)
Requirement needed by the passengers to be care with;
i. 1 hours before starting the journey to report at station(report
time)
ii. To have the luggage and parcels which is less than 20kg per
passenger.
iii. For children aged of 3years to 11years are required to pay only
half of the payment of the whole journey.
5. For one coach consist of three class and each class is based on the payment
There were first class which is for economist class,
The second class and lastly third class which contain of two categories
Seating and sleeping.
Also one train can take at least of number of coach from 20 to 25. And each
coach has capacity of take 80 passengers per journey.
For journey
The old system has capability of transport the passenger twice in a week. That
means for a month it’s 8 times.
Apart from transport of passengers, this company also deal with transport of
the luggage and parcels based on the respective destination with specific payment,
but each they charged based on the 100kg per parcel or luggage with specific
destination. The distance the measured in kilometer from Dar-es-salaam.
Also luggage and parcels were based on two aspect.
i) Unaccompanied-this is under the security of TRL anything happen the
company will be responsible.
ii) Accompanied – this is not for under company care.
NEW SYSTEM:
New system is coming to remove all disadvantage of the old system also to
improve the operation of the company, under this system will remove all manual
in the process of take ticketing also it will be able to increase number of journey
per month form 8 journey to 10 journey.
6. HOW WILL WORK:
This system will use both of common language English and Swahili.
New system will enable passengers to do the following:
First to be connected to the internet.
To visit website of Tanzania Railways Limited.
To fill your detail as passengers i.e.
Date of travelling.
Full name
ID number
From and to(destination)
Also payment based on the class of ticketing.
To make payment then passengers will receive the ticket number with
respect to coach number and sitting number.
