Explanation: Apple And Its Dazzling Success
AGENDA:
1. Basic information about the company.
2. What is the annual revenue of the company?
3. History and evolution of Apple.
4. Mainly products.
5. Through the eyes of consumers.
As you know Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company based in Cupertino,
California, that designs, develops, and sells electronic parts, computer software and online services.
The company is the world’s largest
information technology company
by revenue and the world’s second-largest
mobile phone manufacturer after Samsung.
Apple was founded in April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne,
to develop and sell Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer.
Apple’s worldwide annual revenue totalled $229 billion for the 2017 fiscal year,
the company employs 123.000 full-time employees
and maintains 499 retail stores in 22 countries as of December 2017.
History and reasons of it’s success:
1976–84: Founding and incorporation
1984–91: Success with Macintosh
1991–97: Decline and restructuring
1997–2007: Return to profitability
2007–11: Success with mobile devices
2011–present: Post-Steve Jobs era;
Tim Cook leadership
Mainly products:
The Apple company has built its fame through several products, now known worldwide,
which have caused a shift in the technology, telephony, and operating software landscape
all of that thanks to new industrial devices.
Mac: the computer category of Apple has become known thanks
to its new product; Mac, which has a personal operating system
and a very personal design that does not look like any other
computer.
This is the milking cow of Apple, Indeed, since 2007 and the introduction
of the first iPhone by Steve Jobs, the iPhone is the most selling phone in the world,
this is the product which permit Apple to make oneself known.
iPhone
On January 27, 2010, Apple introduced their own media tablet, the iPad.
It offers multi-touch interaction with multimedia formats. Since then, six iPad generations
have developed, ranging from the simple entertainment tools to real work tools.
iPad
And all the other kind of stuff for the mainly products, such as, HomePod,
Apple Watch, Apple TV, headphone, electronic components…
The Apple’s company enjoys a very large and very
influential brand awareness, and this for several reasons.
At first, since 2007 and the release of the first iPhone,
Apple has faithfully loyal their customers and many of
them are strongly attached to the brand.
Indeed, we can see that each time Apple launch a new product, especially an iPhone,
a crowd of people wait in front of the shops around the world, sometimes for several
days to be sure to get the new product.
In just a few years, the crunchy apple has managed to establish itself as the undisputed
leader in the smartphone market, but also as a reliable brand.
But, many polemics have recently tainted the image of reliability
and transparency that Apple wanted to give.
Indeed, several investigations have shown that the company made sure that its old
products were dysfunctional in order to convince customers to constantly buy new
products; this is called planned obsolescence.
