  2. It’s ALLLLL about attitude!!! Victor Frankl – Attitude…what he focused on….got him through the concentration camps!
  3. POLLING QUESTION: What three reasons you haven’t achieved your goals? In no particular order Throughout todays presentation we’ll talk about the top reasons why we don’t achieve our goals
  4. (new slide) The real key to success in goal setting is having a big enough WHY – that translates into finding the HOW  Know your REAL motivation Where there’s a will…there’s a way
  5. What do you want? Be specific and peel back the onion What’s the worst that can happen? Figure it out, solve it, and move on
  6. Everything we believe up until this moment is based on our conditioning – from outsiders and from within. In order to change what we’ve been doing that’s not necessarily working, we MUST reprogram how we look at life and the future. We MUST harness our fear for good energy We MUST quit the excuses and get on with living life!!!!
  7. (new slide) The past does NOT equal the present. What most of us face is: PAST Conditioning Judgments Love withdrawn FEAR of rejection PRESENT Comfort zone Ignorance Lazy Excuses Assumptions Take for granted Beliefs FUTURE Uncertainty What if???? TODAY, we’re going to break through some of this nonsense!!!
  8. Life is full of vicious circles…both negative and positive. If you feel good…that builds on itself (confidence) and vice versa TODAY we’re going to break that cycle! How you react/respond to a given situation will result in your attitude You come to group and have a bad attitude People sense it and push your buttons (BTW – there will always be button pushers in your life) You react You get into trouble You get even madder Get into more trouble Do drugs to escape More trouble Addictions You feel bad Short term escape (feel good) Feel worse for having done it Do it again to escape feeling bad, but need a little more Feel even worse Do it again Repeat Seen it with food, drugs, alcohol,

  10. False Expectations Appearing Real Of failure Of judgment Of Success Uncertainty Not enough skills All boils down to fear we won’t survive. “Feel The Fear & Do It Anyway!” – Susan Jeffers 98% of all fears never materialize…they only live in our own minds!!!!
  11. Our choice how we respond to the event To find how we can grow and learn OR become a victim of the situation and mire in our crap! You’re here today for a reason so, that’s the first step! Now, let’s take some more 
  12. Most of our issues are because we crave the quick fix…the gratification of spending money, eating, watching a show to escape… But what we’re escaping we’ll have to face eventually. Take care of the long-term, then reward yourself with the short-term gratifications
  13. When one over powers the other…. Today, my goal is create more pain for what you’ve been doing so you truly get passionate about making changes TODAY!
  14. Get up earlier Use your lunch hour Use your commute time! Podcasts are FREE! Watch less TV – sports All the time you invest WILL add up!
  15. (new slide) POLLING QUESTION: If someone gave you $1,440 per day and the only caveat was you spent it WISELY or you had to give what was left back, would you spend all of it? Time is the ONE thing we can’t save! Time is the one thing no amount of money can buy back!! Either way, the time will go – it’s the one thing we can’t save!
  16. One of the most common statements I hear is “But I don’t know where to start or what I want to do with my life!!!” Self-Fulfilling prophecies Limiting beliefs What you focus on you get more of When do you want to retire? How much will you need to live on? How much do you have now?
  17. (new slide) POLLING QUESTION How many of you are REALLY living versus just simply existing?
  18. Story of how I started Master Motivators Attending a funeral Going back to thinking with the end in mind, write your eulogy and live to make it a reality every single day!!! Spend those minutes wisely!!!!
  19. (new slide) Story of being in convalescent hospitals and just talking to older people…. “ If I knew then what I know now…” “ If I had it all to do over again I would…” “ I always thought I would….after….”
  20. POLLING QUESTION: “What sets successful people apart from the rest?” What’s the difference? We have to plan…make painful decisions…sacrifice Story: People who put off going to the dentist….MORE PAIN and MORE MONEY!!!! Life is like the dentist!!! Ghost of Christmas past Crystal ball We often take life and time for granted
  21. The sad truth is if we knew, without a doubt, how much time we had left, we’d spend it a LOT more wisely right? Reactive versus proactive? We could have a few more hours, days, etc. No guarantees.
  22. Okay, with that, we’ll move into our first step in planning out our goals
  23. POLLING QUESTION: How many of you have had bad dreams? Dreams/Nightmares you thought were real? Body doesn’t know real reality versus perceived reality Dreams – remember as a kid we’d dream anything was possible? Vision boards WORK! (Pool, pool table, house)
  24. Be RESOURCEFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL No time….get up earlier…don’t watch tv….listen to audio books No money….mow lawns…night job….make stuff…services to people….sell stuff No knowledge….GOOGLE and YOUTUBE! And if you’re still stuck….ask someone!
  25. (new stuff) “ Try”, “maybe”, “if”, “someday” “ Try” is a tough one. It can be a start, but also an excuse. People forgive you if you “tried” but how hard did you? The words you use will make you right! Words don’t have meaning – we give meaning to the words Negative words used repeatedly will negatively program our subconscious They are excuses Protection systems so they don’t get hurt or disappointed Everything in life depends on how you look at it “ I just can’t work with so and so…” “ I won’t ever get through to so and so…” “ I am never going to make so and so understand…” “ We just have so many problems” versus “We just have so many opportunities” – Which one sounds like you can overcome? Belief Inspires Reality!
  26. It’s all in how you look at the event and details!
  27. Most people do nothing because they think it’s safer that way!
  28. The minute you settle for less than you deserve you get even less than you settled for!

  31. Here’s a word no one likes to hear. Why? Because it feels painful just to say it. BUT, if it’s YOUR choice to invest in something more important than the guilty pleasure you’re indulging in…wasting precious time, then it doesn’t hurt so bad does it? When I talked to seniors who do the shoulda/coulda game…I ask them if the hours spent watching the football games etc. could have been better spent? The answer? Without fail, yes! If we use our brains like lasers, we’ll be amazed at how much we can really accomplish if we focus OUR light beams. Before we can begin the steps to achieving our goals, we must first have a refresher course in goal setting. Who knows the acronym for SMART?
