We live at a time in which we talk and listen constantly about
changes, digital revolution, transformations… Not only us, but also
our clients. However, the true engine of all these changes is not
based only in machines. It is boosted by millions of industries and
people all around the globe that at one point decide to start their
own single and unique revolution.
It is in that ambition of change where we help them every time
we offer them one of our products, and services. That is the
reason why, in Telefónica, we don’t think of IoT only as a group of
solutions, but as a way of evolution. When connected, the vast
number of tools, items and machines we use throw us back into
a data-composed universe where we obtain information more
accurate than we could ever imagine about how we use those tools.
In this way, we can make much righter, faster and safer decisions.
IoT is the technological environment where the things connect with
us and among themselves so that we can make a much better use
of the time we dedicate to routines. Thus we can focus on what
makes us special and different, to attend what is truly important
to us. At home, at the office at shops, factories or transportation…
everywhere we are present as the OnLife Telco we are. This is the
difference we make at Telefónica.
Not only our vision is distant to others, but it positions us exactly
where we have to be, because connecting people with what they
care about is what we’ve been doing for almost a century. It’s in our
DNA. First, connecting houses; then, people; later on, the broadband
mobile contents; and now…
Now is time to connect objects: a new leap forward in connectivity
and communication, which Telefónica is leading once again.
This Telefónica IoT catalogue contains products, solutions and
partners which together are much more than a showcase of stuff
that measure, process and give relevant data to improve our clients’
business. One can also see it as a manual of pieces that compose
and redesign their business plans. Because, at the moment of
truth, when things tell us how we use them in real time our clients
may evolve their vision and take it to a most inspirational and
competitive level.
We walk side by side with our clients in this journey of evolution,
from connectivity to the discovery of new opportunities. And we do
that in the best company along with everyone who contributes to
the development of our exclusive and open innovation ecosystem
in IoT, The Thinx.
All together we can get closer to the goal of making the changes we
want and need.
This is the IoT path that we are building in Telefónica.
But we are not only talking about IoT.
We are talking about a future we can all create together.
This is the right moment to make it happen.
The Internet of Things… of the People.
Let’s make this future an actual reality.
Let’s do IoT.

An instrumental part of IoT is connecting assets. But the most
significant part of the opportunities are extracted when additional
value is extracted from the asset that is connected. Accordingly,
Telefónica is a true believer in value proposition that goes that
go beyond connectivity as the way to increase our revenues by
fulfilling real customer needs.
The “Beyond Connectivity” area includes the value proposition
that build on top of the connectivity, including joint market
approaches with the most important IoT cloud providers and all
the IoT E2E services offering.
Besides the IoT Connect and the Beyond Connectivity domains,
there is a series of capabilities that are present in the whole
Telefónica portfolio, but that are particularly significant in the
case of IoT.
These capabilities are currently related to all the Data Analytics
technologies as well as the Security capabilities. Both domains
are critical at this point. Data Analytics capabilities will be
executed on top of the E2E services and are the next step in terms
of extracting real useful value for the customer. The Security
domain will be present in all the elements of the IoT architecture,
including HW, connectivity, platform proposals, E2E services, Data
analytics. All features are to be secured with the appropriate and
specific technologies.

Hardware Ecosystem
In order to achieve the adoption of IoT technology by the industry
as a whole, dialogue between the main hardware players at a global
scale is more necessary than ever, and this includes establishing key
relationships with many companies in the world, such as, chipsets,
modules and device manufacturers.
We communicate regularly with all those relevant stakeholders, and we
guide them towards the technologies supported by our networks and
towards the commercial needs we perceive in our clients. Due to our
neutral role, Telefónica communicates with all of them with sincerity,
while we filter the noise of customers and smaller markets.
Benefits
The manufacturers of chipsets and modules provide us with samples of modules, so that Telefónica and its most special customers can perform
pre-tests of the characteristics of the network. The modules are regularly certified by Telefónica, which guarantees the compatibility of the
network. On the other hand, the module manufacturers provide us with access to the final device manufacturers and, in this way, they help us
find - among thousands of options - the best solutions for our customers.
Telefónica IoT also maintains regularly its relationship with the largest manufacturers in the world: Foxconn, WNC and Flex, as well as some very
strong regional companies in IoT such as Fagor, Ikerlan, Telnet or Erictel. All of them help us providing our customers with specific devices when
they are not available in the usual shopping channels.

VAMPS
Vamps continuously manages all vulnerabilities that pose a security
threat to your organization.
Companies, which are increasingly present in the digital world, are
more exposed to receiving a variety of attacks and assaults on their
systems. 53% of attackers take advantage of organizations’ software
vulnerabilities as a gateway to their systems, so early detection of
the existing vulnerabilities in the systems of an organization is vital
nowadays. Vamps provides a global view of organizations’ weaknesses,
helping to identify security threats and potential means of attack,
revealing all the assets of an organization that are exposed on the
Internet and allowing a quick management of their correction.
Vamps is especially suitable to be applied to IoT world as it includes
specific plugins for IoT devices and systems.
CYBERTHREATS
Cybersecurity is part of the digital era and is one of the current
concerns of governments, businesses and citizens around the world.
It would take an average of 205 days for an organization to discover
that it has been hacked or breached, and other 46 days to resolve the
incident from its detection.
The challenge is to continuously anticipate, monitor and respond to
cyber-attacks long before they occur.
CyberThreats allows organizations to detect and respond to the
different threat types. Unlike other security solutions, CyberThreats
covers all phases of the cyber threat lifecycle, based on its
cyberintelligence model. Its end-to-end global view of risks provides
a proactive approach focused on the early identification and effective

  • 3. 4 5 We live at a time in which we talk and listen constantly about changes, digital revolution, transformations… Not only us, but also our clients. However, the true engine of all these changes is not based only in machines. It is boosted by millions of industries and people all around the globe that at one point decide to start their own single and unique revolution. It is in that ambition of change where we help them every time we offer them one of our products, and services. That is the reason why, in Telefónica, we don’t think of IoT only as a group of solutions, but as a way of evolution. When connected, the vast number of tools, items and machines we use throw us back into a data-composed universe where we obtain information more accurate than we could ever imagine about how we use those tools. In this way, we can make much righter, faster and safer decisions. IoT is the technological environment where the things connect with us and among themselves so that we can make a much better use of the time we dedicate to routines. Thus we can focus on what makes us special and different, to attend what is truly important to us. At home, at the office at shops, factories or transportation… everywhere we are present as the OnLife Telco we are. This is the difference we make at Telefónica. Not only our vision is distant to others, but it positions us exactly where we have to be, because connecting people with what they care about is what we’ve been doing for almost a century. It’s in our DNA. First, connecting houses; then, people; later on, the broadband mobile contents; and now… Now is time to connect objects: a new leap forward in connectivity and communication, which Telefónica is leading once again. This Telefónica IoT catalogue contains products, solutions and partners which together are much more than a showcase of stuff that measure, process and give relevant data to improve our clients’ business. One can also see it as a manual of pieces that compose and redesign their business plans. Because, at the moment of truth, when things tell us how we use them in real time our clients may evolve their vision and take it to a most inspirational and competitive level. We walk side by side with our clients in this journey of evolution, from connectivity to the discovery of new opportunities. And we do that in the best company along with everyone who contributes to the development of our exclusive and open innovation ecosystem in IoT, The Thinx. All together we can get closer to the goal of making the changes we want and need. This is the IoT path that we are building in Telefónica. But we are not only talking about IoT. We are talking about a future we can all create together. This is the right moment to make it happen. The Internet of Things… of the People. Let’s make this future an actual reality. Let’s do IoT.
