National Programme Goals
Schools will use e-learning to give effect to the New Zealand Curriculum / Te Marautanga
                         o Aotearoa by increasing the capability of:


                      -Students to become successful digital citizens

 -Principals to lead the integration of e learning in their schools strategic and operational


        -Teachers to integrate e learning effectively into their practice creating an
              innovative and exciting learning environment for all students


                -Family and whanau to actively participate in their child’s learning


    -The sector by sharing online professional reflections to inform colleagues of the
                   challenges and opportunities afforded by e-learning

Students to use e-learning tools with increased
confidence in a variety applications to develop
critical thinking skills.

Students understand the responsibilities of
being a digital citizen and engage appropriately

Students used a variety of ICT products and processes in their learning.

Students articulated goals for their learning.

Student participation and competency in using e-learning tools (Wiki’s, Blogs, Digital Story
books, Movies, Pod Casting etc.)

CLUSTER GOALS
Opportunities for developing the capability of leaders in E-Learning.

To promote the integration and understandings of ICT with students, staff and parents.

SUCCESS INDICATORS
Principals and Senior Leadership actively promote and support e-Learning within the school, and classroom
programmes.

Teachers led E-Learning professional development sessions in cross school professional
development afternoons.

Cluster members presented at a National level.

Learning management systems are investigated and integrated within the school programme.

Staff members are using ICT tools in their classroom programme to support learning.
(Digital cameras, Web 2.0 tools, interactive material, handheld devices and computers).

Professional Development has been held in each school and across the cluster.

Evidence of E-Learning tools have been integrated within the classroom inquiry programs.

Professional Readings have been shared and discussed

Teachers have embedded the new learning from conferences, workshops and other professional development
opportunities into their teaching practice.

Teacher surveys show increased levels of staff use and confidence in ICT tools.


Each school has a programme in place for the up skilling of staff.

Staff members set, act and reflect on personal ICT goals.

Staff actively engage in a tailored professional development programmes.

Teachers integrate LMS systems within their teaching practice.
Implementation of Programme

Teachers to form learning groups around
                      key e-learning tools.

Identify key areas of interest among staff using surveying and brainstorming used.

  Action research groups to meet twice termly to plan learning
  pathways.
  • Write goals specific to learning focus.
  • Success criteria and rubrics for assessment and classroom
  alignment.
  • Prepare timetable for implementation/assessment / presentations/
  reflection.
  • Prepare resources for students and teachers.
  • Present regular progress online and in professional development
  sessions.
  • Gather and distribute relevant readings.
  • Present at the mini conferences and submit for Ulearn 2011 and
  Learning@School 2012.
 Teacher release days: HPS 19 days @ 292.50
To carry out a survey of staff to show use and confidence of ICT.


                   Survey to be completed in March and October.

                     Facilitator to design and implement a survey.

   All staff including principals to complete and results to be collated, analyzed and
                              shared with staff by facilitators.


Analysis of survey results and resulting review evidenced in changes to implementation
                                           plan.

Use of ICT survey from CORE Education to show school and cluster placement used to
                          inform practice and planning.
MEASURING OUR SUCCESS
     Copy of goals, implementation and professional
          development plans for each group.

  Exemplars of teachers work with students. Including,
               artifacts, film and photos.

   Reflections of the learning journey undertaken and
                      demonstrate.

  Material / Presentations / Reflections available on the
                       cluster wiki.

National Programme Goals Schools will use e-learning to give effect to the New Zealand Curriculum / Te Marautanga o Aotearoa by increasing the capability of: -Students to become successful digital citizens -Principals to lead the integration of e learning in their schools strategic and operational -Teachers to integrate e learning effectively into their practice creating an innovative and exciting learning environment for all students -Family and whanau to actively participate in their child’s learning -The sector by sharing online professional reflections to inform colleagues of the challenges and opportunities afforded by e-learning

What does this mean for HPS NATIONAL GOAL Students to become successful digital citizen CLUSTER GOALS Students to use e-learning tools with increased confidence in a variety applications to develop critical thinking skills. Students understand the responsibilities of being a digital citizen and engage appropriately in online communities. SUCCESS INDICATORS Students used a variety of ICT products and processes in their learning. Students articulated goals for their learning. Student participation and competency in using e-learning tools (Wiki’s, Blogs, Digital Story books, Movies, Pod Casting etc.)
  • 4. NATIONAL GOAL Principals to lead the integration of e-learning in their schools (strategic and operational) CLUSTER GOALS Opportunities for developing the capability of leaders in E-Learning. To promote the integration and understandings of ICT with students, staff and parents. SUCCESS INDICATORS Principals and Senior Leadership actively promote and support e-Learning within the school, and classroom programmes. Teachers led E-Learning professional development sessions in cross school professional development afternoons. Cluster members presented at a National level. Learning management systems are investigated and integrated within the school programme. Staff members are using ICT tools in their classroom programme to support learning. (Digital cameras, Web 2.0 tools, interactive material, handheld devices and computers). Professional Development has been held in each school and across the cluster. Evidence of E-Learning tools have been integrated within the classroom inquiry programs. Professional Readings have been shared and discussed

NATIONAL GOAL Teachers to integrate e-learning effectively into their practice creating an innovative and exciting learning environment for all students CLUSTER GOALS Increase teacher knowledge and expertise that will work towards raising student achievement through e-learning. Staff will use ICT to further their own professional development. SUCCESS INDICATORS Teachers have embedded the new learning from conferences, workshops and other professional development opportunities into their teaching practice. Teacher surveys show increased levels of staff use and confidence in ICT tools. Each school has a programme in place for the up skilling of staff. Staff members set, act and reflect on personal ICT goals. Staff actively engage in a tailored professional development programmes. Teachers integrate LMS systems within their teaching practice.

  • 7. Teachers to form learning groups around key e-learning tools. Identify key areas of interest among staff using surveying and brainstorming used. Action research groups to meet twice termly to plan learning pathways. • Write goals specific to learning focus. • Success criteria and rubrics for assessment and classroom alignment. • Prepare timetable for implementation/assessment / presentations/ reflection. • Prepare resources for students and teachers. • Present regular progress online and in professional development sessions. • Gather and distribute relevant readings. • Present at the mini conferences and submit for Ulearn 2011 and Learning@School 2012. Teacher release days: HPS 19 days @ 292.50
  • 8. To carry out a survey of staff to show use and confidence of ICT. Survey to be completed in March and October. Facilitator to design and implement a survey. All staff including principals to complete and results to be collated, analyzed and shared with staff by facilitators. Analysis of survey results and resulting review evidenced in changes to implementation plan. Use of ICT survey from CORE Education to show school and cluster placement used to inform practice and planning.

Reflections of the learning journey undertaken and demonstrate. Material / Presentations / Reflections available on the cluster wiki.
