Lyndsey Jenkins is a PhD student at Edinburgh Napier University exploring factors that influence innovation across European countries using data from the 2013 Community Innovation Survey and vocational education statistics. The study aims to identify which national factors best support innovation, compare findings to the UK, and inform Jenkins' PhD interviews. Preliminary results found that research and development expenditure, vocational training provision, cooperation on innovation, international collaboration, and operating in international markets differentiated countries with high, medium, and low innovation levels. These factors also predicted the number of innovative enterprises within countries.
