2. Hip-Hop
• Hip-hop can easily stand as one of the most
popular genres out there. It can be seen as
heavily criticised because of aggressive subgenres such as gangsta rap, grime and crunk rap
which all place as the negative and lazy aspects of
hip-hop. Hip-hop is normally associated with rap
but the genre does not require it and many hiphop artists have been seen as influential and
successful. Hip-hop generally uses rhythmic beats
and synthesis/samples to create a recurring beat
for the song to which they may rap or sing
alongside.

3. Artists & Mise En Scene
• Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and even ‘The
Lonely Island’ (Renowned comedy music
group) are a few of the most prominent artists
out there. In general, the attire for most artists
consist of baggy clothing, gangsta outfits and
other clothing related with the ‘streets’. There
are exceptions of course but most hip-hop
artists generalise this front with this popular
genre.
