Mock Proposal for Board Game Collaboration
1. TO: Koji Hoshino, Kiyofumi Nakajima, Hayao Miyazaki, Toshioo Suzuki, Studio Ghibli
FROM: Luis Marciaga, Inkdrop Games
DATE: January 23, 2020
SUBJECT: Studio Ghibli Card Game Collaboration
Imagine giving your loving and passionate fans a new way to explore the worlds you
have nurtured for years. Your company has prided itself in inspiring creation and
innovation; I’m here with Inkdrop Games to offer you the next step. Walk with me on
this journey to expanding your universes with a card game founded in your stories.
Together, let’s create the next generation of storytellers and creatives around the world.
Background and Purpose
Studio Ghibli has been the face of passionate, high-quality storytelling for over a decade
now. Your stories inspire and change the lives of all those lucky enough to experience
them, but now it is time to place some of the creative power in their hands. Together, we
can use the love and adoration people around the globe have for your stories to encourage
them to create in a world so quick to destroy. The card game industry has grown and
adapted over the last several years and become a normalized hobby, making it a
wonderful outlet of untapped potential. Giving your fans a method for building off of
your creations is a wonderful gift only your company can give. This could be a learning
tool to allow artists around the world to boost their creative arsenal and bring the world
more high-quality inspiring stories. With your guidance and your stories, Inkdrop Games
can give creatives a new outlet to hone their skills and change the world, one card game
at a time.
Proposed Plan of Action
Inkdrop Games is founded on the belief that the world needs new outlets to re-invigorate
the passion and love for creating. We want to offer people a steppingstone in learning the
art of storytelling, allowing them to build off of your pre-existing narratives to breed
confidence in their own creations. As creatives ourselves, we believe in the power of
guidance. Imagine this card game as a sort of apprenticeship for your fans around the
world; the amazing skills we can produce globally, and all while playing a mentally and
visually stimulating game that is entertaining for everyone. My team has spent years in
the board game industry and understand that niche very well. The people in it, the
fluctuations of cultural norms within the group, and the factors that drive games to
success. We want to take our knowledge of what makes a successful game and harness
that power to inspire the world, breeding a new generation of innovation. Below are all
the details to bring this global phenomenon to fruition.

My team is made up of some of the best, brightest, and most drive creators I have met in
the industry. Our main game designers, Kristoff Piedro and John Malckoliv passed
through the Full Sail Game Design program at the top of their class. Prior to graduating,
they were quickly hired on to Fantasy Flight Games and CMON Limited respectively,
two titans of the board game industry. After 7 years of working for this big companies,
they want to take the skills they have mastered and create a game to inspire the masses.
Our illustrator is Alex Nordan, a top-notch artist from the Ringling College of Art and
Design, taught by some of the world’s best artists in the world. To create the game
pieces, we will have Tatiana Walman, a 3-D modeler who has spent 5 years killing it in
the custom toys convention world, modeling, printing and painting innovative and
visually stunning pieces. Lastly, we will hire on Brandon Tarker as our marketing agent.
