As a novice alert service user, Lucia has set me some tasks for setting up Journal Alerts
The first one is to Set up a table of contents alert using Science Direct and show what a table of contents will look like.
I click on the link in the Library page
At the bottom of the page I click on Create and manage alerts
I click on Create an account and complete the fields, then click Done.
This takes you to the Science Direct home page.
At the bottom of the page I click on Create and manage alerts
I click on Find a publication to add and alert and I get a list of publications
I have chosen to search in the Nursing and Health Professions domain, under the subdomain Radiography. I’ve also selected Journals and Books.
I want to set up alerts for the journal Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, so I click on that name.
I get information about the journal and click Set up journal alerts
Hint: you can only do this with current journals, not old or archived journals – the option to set up journal alerts won’t appear on those
I want to set up a Table of contents alert so I select that box and click Save. I now get the following message:
