1. Math Fluency Poster: Final Design
Goal: To inform parents on the importance of mathematical
fluency for their children’s future.
Audience: Parents of students at my school and possibly
teachers as well.
Message: Practicing simple math fluency activities with your
child can increase their enjoyment and achievement in math
for the rest of their life.

3. Adjustments
My first design was obviously very simple and had very little
that would catch my audience’s eye so I decided to add some
images and change the title to match visuals that I added to
the poster.

5. Adjustments
I liked this basic concept and decided to use it throughout the
rest of my designs, but I changed a few elements from week
to week.
● Shrunk the text in order to make the images the focal point.
● Changed the alignment to add more free space to the design
● Enlarged the images to make them stand out more.

7. Adjustments
I felt like my design was a little simplistic and tried to add
some interest and a clearer style to my design by…
Adding the mathematical symbols as an extra visual to align with my message
Changing the images to ones of my niece to show the contrast between one
child’s emotions
Adding a color background that pulls from a color in the images.

9. Adjustments
For my final slide I decided to return to my main design and
make a few adjustments.
Changed to a white background.
Added two black bars for my images and text to go on top of(they also make an
equal sign).
Made my color image black and white to match
Zoomed in on the subject of my second photo so both subjects were shown at
an equal distance
Kept the math equations from the previous week.
Added a pop of red to the design to draw the eyes.
Contrasted a sans serif and serif type in my title and body text.
