The document discusses various facts related to Formula 1 racing history, including:
1) The circuit that previously held the record for most consecutive races at a venue, which had its streak broken.
2) How film crews were given limited permission to film at this circuit in 2009 after the local authorities and F1 head intervened.
3) Additional details on circuits, races, drivers and rules throughout F1 history.
2. X is a circuit which holds the record of having the most consecutive races held at a
venue, a streak which was broken last year.
Two weeks before the run in to the 2009 version of this event, the circuit was
booked by a filmmaking crew from America, they were given permission by the local
authorities to proceed with the shooting but F1 head honcho Bernie Ecclestone
intervened to deny permission.
They eventually reached a compromise wherein the crew were allowed to film a
couple of Rolls-Royce Phantoms driving around.

5. In the German version of the 2006 Disney Film Cars, Lightning McQueen is
voiced by X and The King is voiced by Y (In the English Version its Owen Wilson
and NASCAR Legend Richard Petty)
This proved to be a brilliant coincidence a few years down the line.

8. The 2009 Monaco GP was also famous for a certain American born model who
supposedly posed a problem for the drivers and had to be removed from the venue.
It wasn’t until the 2017 Monaco GP was she allowed back and was deemed to no
longer be a problem by the drivers.

11. Bertrand Gachot is a French Former F1 driver who was regarded as one of the
more promising talents to come up through the ranks.
He was recruited by the newly formed X team in 1991, and was doing well until he
was charged with causing bodily harm in a road rage incident in London.
His trial caused him to miss the GP at Spa where X was supposed to do very well.
X wanted driver Stefan Johansson as a replacement drive, but Mercedes paid X
$150000 to hire Y as their replacement driver for the remainder of the season
Y then went on to retire the car on the very first lap on Sunday and despite the
$150000 payment by Mercedes, that was the only race where he raced for X

Arms, around a decade after his death his mother presented the family emblem
called the ‘_________ Rampante’ to one of her friends who was a racing driver for
Alfa Romeo at the time and told him that it would bring him good luck.
21. When signing for Mercedes in 2013, Lewis Hamilton said that one of the key
points of his new contract was that he would get to take his race trophies home,
since at McLaren Ron Dennis had a clause which stated that all trophies would
always remain at the team offices.
This policy was supposedly because of a controversial action committed by Alain
Prost after winning the Italian GP at Monza in 1989.

28. A certain system which had been abolished after the 2002 season was bought back
at the start of the 2010 season by new FIA President Jean Todt
Given in the next slide is a list of drivers for whom the system came into play.
Post the 2016 Hungarian GP, the FIA introduced a much needed amendment to
this system.
The sensibility of this amendment were most recently seen in the 2020 Turkish
GP, without it we would not have been witness to Lance Stroll and Lewis
Hamilton’s magic that weekend.
29.
30.
31. The rule change was that in case of special weather conditions this rule would be
scrapped
If this had been followed during the Turkish GP in 2020 only
Max,Kimi,Charles,Vettel and Albon would have been allowed to start the race.
As Max set a 1:57 best time in Q1, its 107% time is 2:05
32. Given in the next slide is an image of David Coulthard standing next to an exhibit
at an Art Gallery at Monaco

involved with F1 for over two decades in a very iconic way. He first took on this
job at very first Australian GP in 1985 and was an instant hit and would enthrall
millions across the globe with his fifteen minutes of fame at GPs.
He was known for his iconic quote “ It’s not over until the ________ _____”.
Although in todays era he would be out of job due to obvious safety concerns.
His role was summed up by the great Murray Walker in one quote
“And he is there, trying his best to break his wrist, elbow and shoulder all at once"

47. In most F1 races drivers get a whole number of points for finishing the race, the
obvious exception to this being races in which at least 75% isn’t completed have
half points awarded, with 2009 Malaysia being the latest example
However in the 1954 British GP at Silverstone 7 drivers including Fangio and
Hawthorn finished with a 1/7th added to their points tally.
This was partially a freak occurrence but it was mainly down to the limited and
crude technology of the time period.
48.
49.
50. The FIA introduced a new scheme in the 2010s wherein young promising drivers
or pay driers would be allowed to drive a 2 year old F1 Car for practice purposes.
A few of the drivers to use this program were Lance Stroll to drive the Williams
and Lando Norris the McLaren
In 2019 the runner up of the previous F3 series got to use the W08 for a period of
12 days which included personal coaching from Esteban Ocon.

52.
53. It took Romain Grosjean 5 years and 3 Belgian GP’s to be able to complete a lap of
Spa on a Sunday
What did he do in his first two races that would have been very interesting had he
done it during the past few years.
