Introduction
Community resources that facilitate learning include everything in the
community that can be used to illustrate a concept or generalization or
to help children internalize a value. Such resources include every
community situation in which children get opportunity to apply their
intellectual social or personal potentials and skills. At also include
every experience that allows them to express their feelings and clarity
their values.
DATA COLLECTION
Meaning And Nature of Community Resources
Community is the most important resource for the education of
the child. Its the child laboratory. It provides the child the first hand
learning experiences about the ways of living. It is though this active
participation in community life that a child learns and develops the
basic concepts of history, geography, economics, transpiration,
communication etc. Including various aspects of living in a community.
The community which help the child develop an insight into the reasons
and conditions which contribute to changes in social life From such
experiences child makes generalizations about his communities and
fries to make comparison between the way of living of his community
with those of some other communities. A large numbe of experiences
of the child with his own community helps him to understand in a
better way the ways of living in other plases and other communities.
Which may be living indifferent parts of the world.
NEED SIGNIFICANCE OF COMMUNITY
RESORCES
There are four main reasons why community resources are valuable;
1. Teaching and learning become reelect, because they can be
performed through the children’s social experiences.
2. The community proceeds excellent opportunities for social action
and for the development of intellectual and social skills.
3. The school and community can become closers to each other.
4. The children learn more about the community becomes involved in
its affairs and thus becomes better citizens.
Even in ancient times educational theorists had argued that using
children’s experiences as a stepping stone to newer and newer
knowledge will be more effective than merely depending upon text
books. This is a very sound theory. collings has highlighted the values of
community resources us follows;
1. Internal School work becomes more meaningful when this is linked
with out of school experience. Concrete and familiar situations from
bases for the development of new cognition.
2. That will act as an effective medium for training to citizenship, as
students get a feeling that they are actually involved in community
like in meaningful way.
3. Students land acquire greater proficiently in problem solving for
example, active involvement in the planning execution of a visit to
some important community center will give pupils a feeling that
they are part of the community life.
4. Community provides ‘concrete’ ‘uisibel‘ and tangible’ interesting and
meaningful’ for the teaching and leaching of social science. It is not
enough for a child to hace ‘Knowldge’ about the factories, farms,
council sessions, museums and social agencies. He must hace direct ‘
acquaintance with’ all there. A community is a child’s laboratory for
having firsthand experience about the ways at living.
Conclusion
I conclude that the community with its rich and varied resources can
enrich and supplement leaning in social science A will planned
programme can bring the school and the community quite close to
each other. A school cannot remain a forbidden area for the community
to center.
