Linda Wilson Founds Texas Country Music Association
1. Linda K. Wilson is the founding President of the Texas Country Music Association, Inc. and its
charity, Texas Country Cares. Country superstar Mark Chesnutt is the Texas Country Music
Association's official Spokesperson.
The Texas Country Music Association, Inc. and its charity, Texas Country Cares was founded in
2011 by Linda Wilson of Carthage, TX. Her past and current involvement in the Country Music
industry prompted her to initiate the TCMA and begin to build it to be the premier organization
dedicated to the promotion and support of both established and new independent Country Music
Artists, Singers, Songwriters and Musicians from Texas as well as those who perform in Texas.
Linda Wilson formerly founded, owned and published Texas Country Music Magazine and
Today's Country Magazine (Houston) cross promoted with KIKK Radio, where she interviewed
and wrote about a host of Country Artists who were both from and performing in Texas, such as
Terry McBride, Tanya Tucker, Shania Twain, Toby Keith, George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, the
TCMA’s own Spokesperson, Mark Chesnutt many more.
Additionally she partnered in a booking and management agency that secured performance dates
in Texas for up-and-coming artists at that time, such as Tim McGraw, John Michael
Montgomery, Doug Supernaw and Rick Trevino, and established artists such as Ricky Van
Shelton, Mark Colle, John Conlee and Joe Diffie, to name a few. With almost 30 years’
experience in the Country Music Industry in booking, management, marketing, media and
promotion, event coordination, performance and recording, Linda Wilson’s experience, contacts,
marketing and promotion savvy qualifies her to lead the organization with style and
effectiveness.
There are many different types of individuals involved in the music business in Texas, and it’s
her goal, through the Texas Country Music Association, to aid in the success of not only artists,
musicians and songwriters, but also professionals such as venues, media, businesses and
individuals who work diligently behind the scenes to make it all happen – all for the enjoyment
of fans who listen. “By building relationships we can accomplish much,” Linda Wilson states,
“and the TCMA's vision is to be the most effective networking resource to support and enable
the ups-and-coming artists who are from and entertain in Texas. Historically our state has
produced a unique genre which transcends from shore to shore and around the world.” There
are member categories for everyone: artists, singers/songwriters, individuals/fans, professionals,
businesses and more. The TCMA’s genres cover primarily Country Music and Christian
Country Music, and has members not only from Texas but all over the United States and around
the world.
The Texas Country Music Association’s growing membership as well as the directors and
advisory council members will continually work together to assist, promote and support the
industry and its artists by creating opportunities, marketing and promotion of its members.
Currently the TCMA is seeking memberships and donations to accomplish these goals, as well as
enable the establishment of a Recording and Rehearsal Studio in Carthage, Texas, the
organization’s headquarters, that will double as a Music Education Center for youth and adults
2. alike who would like to learn to play, sing, write and produce. Their website is
www.texascountrymusic.org.
“We have plans not only for the recording studio, but a compilation cd of unsigned member
artists, songwriter and artist showcases and an awards program, but also a Texas Country Music
Festival to raise funds for Texas Country Cares -- our Charity that was formed to provide
assistance in many various areas to those in need such as health and medical costs over and
above insurance, funeral expense for unexpected tragedy, support for Law Enforcement and
Veterans' families in times of loss.....and more,” she states. “Be sure to check it out when you go
on our website to join. The organization’s plans are ongoing and growing to develop additional
effective resources and events.”
The organization will also be working with other charities and good causes to raise funds for
special needs. “I believe there are many things we can accomplish as an organization – good
things to help others in many ways,” says Linda Wilson, “and we are excited about the future
and working together with Mark Chesnutt to make it happen. He definitely wants to have a lot
of input in our activities and plans, and will be a great influence to other members.”
