• Writing endless articles and distributing them across the web
• Posting every day on Facebook
• Posting every day on Twitter
• Commenting every day on other peoples blogs
• Commenting every day on relevant forums
• Adding fresh content to my sites every week
• Email signatures
• Etc., etc. and even more etc's
It was driving me slowly crazy - however - I had sites on page one of Google and some some at
number one for their keyword phrase.
Sales began happening, nothing huge, but steady sales for the first time. I had just started fingering
an Aston Martin brochure when I switched on my computer one morning to discover that all my
sites had gone! You are right, good old Google had changed it's algorithm again and my sites were
on page ten gazzilion.
A few more useless get rich quick products and we get to December 2012.
I was now under great pressure from friends and family to forget all about trying to make money
online and the whole internet marketing business. In truth, what they said made a great deal of
sense. To spend endless hours, days, weeks, months and even years working like crazy for as close
to zero income as makes no difference is stupid.
It was time to quit.
I don't want this to be another scammy promotional article so I will not reveal the individual
involved but, out of the blue, I received an email from someone that I had never heard of. He was
promoting his own product and it is a testament to his salesmanship that even weary, cynical old me
watched his promotional videos and was seriously interested.
I got out my credit card and bought in, making sure that none of my nearest and dearest knew what
I was doing.

Mindset.
This is something that I would have dismissed as silly psycho babble a few weeks earlier.
Remember what I said about being a hopeless cynic. However so desperate was I to make money
online I decided that if I had to stand on one leg in my local high street and whistle dixie I would do

2. it if it meant, at least, cracking the internet marketing code.
I followed the steps required to change my mind set, my self image. It felt, at first, a little strange
but I persisted.
What to sell and how to sell it.
This is what I had focused on in those years of wandering around in circles in the internet desert
getting nowhere. This stuff is important but, as I now know, not as important as re-tuning your mind
and outlook to make success achievable.
I am now enjoying the internet marketing lifestyle. I'm solvent, self-employed, traveling a lot,
happy and above all free!
