MULTIPLE PREGNANCY as well

5. • Risk are the SAME for all
foetuses in a Monochorionic
Twin pregnancy but
• DIFFERENT for each fetus in
Dichorionic Pregnancy

screening ultrasound is
done appropriately by
Trained and Certified
sonographers only

7. •Quadruple marker
has better sensitivity
than Triple marker
•Infact triple marker
should not be done

8. There is No role of
second trimester
biochemical screening
in MULTIPLE pregnancy

9. • First trimester gives a unique
opportunity to rule out many
structural abnormalities
• Detection of common structural
malformations in first trimester
is Possible

ultrasound in the first trimester to rule
out common structural fetal
malformations:

17. SECOND TRIMESTER ANOMALY SCAN
• All patients should be offered a detailed
anomaly scan at 18 to 20 weeks.
• Markers for chromosomal abnormalities
should again be looked for in the
second trimester

18. Second trimester scan
• Effort should be made to do
‘extended’ cardiac views
(outflow tracts,3 vessel trachea
view apart from the four chamber
view)during anomaly check

19. FETAL ECHOCARDIOGRAM
• In women with high BMI or pre-
gestational diabetes a fetal
echocardiogram should also be
considered
(Society of Fetal Medicine)
Recommends Fetal Echocardiogram
in all pregnancies
