5. Conclusions /Summary
• Advantages of OER:
– Use of new technologies – very convenient for adult learners, big help for teachers , if
they have good ICT skills.
– No limitation in time, place – good for working/ busy people
A need to create a culture for sharing – OER culture:
• Beating the fear of peer criticism
• Ensuring QA
• Lack of skills to create and use OER – need for training
• Credit system for assesment of time invested in creating online materials
• Need for good examples and practices
• Acquisition of self-directed learning skills
