2. ▪ I began the planning process for my project. Made a mock-up script and a list of all
the equipment I will need, including a shot list for when production begins. I
decided on a target audience and then from that decided on the format for my
video.
▪ The project will be a mockumentary rather than another format as I find some of
the other formats too serious/boring for sharing information. Or the juxta of that
the other formats seemed too lively as I still want the focus to be on the
information.
▪ I had a look at some other small productions and my peers. To gain insight into
what has been done well and how I could use that in my project.
▪ I had some catching up to do, but I think I set myself up nicely for the next coming
weeks as I managed to create some good foundations for my project. However, I do
need to begin looking into how I would begin production, a refined equipment and
shot list. I need to be booking equipment and studio time soon.
3. ▪ I got started by making a proper script for my mockumentary. I’ll be using that as
the template for my project, though I’m willing to change and modify when its
needed.
▪ I got one of my friends to be my actor and booked equipment/studio time for the
following week. Refining my document, I have so far and making a filming
schedule, so I know where I need to be at.
▪ It would have been nice to get started filming this week as I’m a little behind. But
the extra week was helpful to make sure I had everything I needed before jumping
into things. Though I do need to pick up the pace over the next couple weeks.
4. ▪ This is the day I had booked equipment and Studio time for,
so I got most of my filming done.I ended up just doing this
by myself,me being the actor instead of the original person
I had for it.
▪ I did get the filming done. However,it would have been
helpful to have an extra pair of hands rather than doing it
solo. I will keep this in mind for future projects and have at
least one person to help,if not a team of people to help.
▪ However, this hasn’t hindered the progress of my schedule
and though it was more difficult the quality is still good and
usable for the project. At this point I’m almost all caught up I
just need get editing.
5. ▪ Got a lot of Editing done with the footage,
though I did lose a bit of footage! Trying to
recover that, we’ll see if I can. Though I can
work with what I have for now leaving some
gaps for if I can recover the footage.
▪ I have most of my video effects and digital
work done now. Its looking nice and well
done, fitting with the music very well. I spent
a lot of time on the editing as I had the time
before having my camera footage.
▪ I just need to record the voice over audio still,
but that will have to wait for after I have the
rest of my footage as I’m not sure if I will have
to edit my script due to the lack of live action
footage.
6. WEEK 4 (26TH OF OCTOBER)
▪ I couldn't find my previously lost footage, but I will continue and work with what I
have. I unfortunately don’t believe I have any time for reshoots with half term
around the corner.
▪ I had some gaps in my video, but I managed to work around it with more digital
effects and some alterations to the script.I think this proposed a challenge to me
that I wasn’t expecting, but It was good to work with this under pressure as things
like this can happen anytime.
▪ I still need the voice over audio recording, but once I have that my video will be
complete for the most part. I can do this at home and do my final tweaks at home as
well.
7. ▪ Recording the voice over audio as most the editing
is done.I did this in my car as it’s a good space to
record audio in due to it being quite sealed and
soundproof. My only issue was it’s a small space so
it’s a bit awkward to get used to with a laptop and
mic
▪ Adding my audio to my projects current state, this
was the final piece of the puzzle thoughthere is still
some fine tuning to do,but its only nitpickythings
that I can finish until the hand in.
▪ Adding the finishing touches to the film to just round
it and make it complete.I could keep going with the
editing,but I don't want to overdo it.As I need the
focus still to be on the information.
8. WEEK 5 (5TH OF NOVEMBER)
▪ I've ran into another snag as when I went to export the project It turned out to be in
the wrong format. I believe this issue occurd when I transferred the film to my
laptop to begin editing ta home. I could have never expected this but atleast I
know now to stick to the same edition of software, or everything could go wrong.
▪ I kept editing what I could even though I couldn't export yet. I guess it means I've
had a bit of extra time to keep editing my project, but not ideal.
▪ I tried everything to try and fix it baring restarting the whole thing, which I don't
really have time to do. I may have to go to IT to see if anyone there knows how to fix
it.
9. ▪ I tried fixing the exporting issue myself over the last week with lots of different
things. It was a painstaking process but apparently it worked. I found an exported
version of my project out of the blue which would do to send off for evaluation.
▪ I gained a little bit of feedback on the film from my peers and a couple others. For
now, everything seems good and the choices I had made seemed to have been the
right idea. Luckily, my idea didn't cross over with anyone elses so neither was
overhadowed.
▪ Now to finish the rest of my work and wait for more feedback on the project.
