 Arts (Creative & Cultural Industries)
 Communications (Information & Communications Technology Industries)
 Finance Industries (Finance, Insurance & Business Services)
 Property Services (Property Services & Security)

3.  BSB – Business Services
 FNS – Financial Services
 CUA-Creative Arts & Culture
 ICT – Information Communications Technology
 PSP – Printing & Graphic Arts Training Package
 CPP 07– Construction Property Services

4.  ACFIPS undertakes a range of activities to identify the needs of our
industries for skill and workforce development:
• Formal consultation such as focus groups, workshops, industry sector
advisory groups, site visits
• Conference and industry forum presentations
• Project work with cross industry collaboration and partnerships

6.  VET should be focused on job outcomes, and qualifications
should indicate pathways

 Specific skills go across all industries. Many are included in
Training Packages under our umbrella
 There is a critical demand for understanding of cloud based
technologies.
 Digital Marketing – understanding of how to manipulate Big Data
(critical aspects of data coming from social media)
 ability to extract product/relevant content to attract audiences
 audiences.



7.  Companies in Business Services Industry provide professional assistance
to other businesses such as strategic and technical advice, advertising &
marketing, recruitment and administration & increasingly data collection
& analytics through call centres.
 The Business Services Training Package is widely across all Australian
industries.
 General Clerks make up one of the largest occupational groups in the
economy with over 220,000 workers
 Critical skills areas include:
ICT – strategic & operational
Cyber Security
 Digital literacy

8.  Traineeships are still viable pathways as finance
industries’ training is specific to the job eg you
work in superannuation.
 The largest financial traineeships, along with
business qualifications are in retail banking -
mutual and business, and debt collecting. There
is stable growth, reflecting the market place.

9.  JOBS Technical and Artistic Production staff
 All industries have shortages of technical directors, production and
operations managers with Corporate Services requiring AV in-house.
 Screen Producers Australia listed the current and future employment
opportunities in the production/broadcasting sector:
 Production Accountants
 Virtual Reality Technicians
 VR Camera Operators
 Software Engineering
 Online Advertising Executives/Sales
 Visual Effects Specialists (including. digital, make-up and FX)
 Crew (all aspects of building, specialist set engineering, electricians,
carpenters etc)


10.  Skills shortages:
 Copper works/more networks – cross skilling/training
for NBN rollout knowledge of fibre and copper required.
 IT cloud based applications – smart phone Apps.
 Computational methods – data – how to make use of it.
 Body adapted electronics
 Certificate III required subjects : assess the fault and
find it, construction maintenance & servicing, customer
service ,NBN broad awareness

11.  Technical innovation – there is a massive
explosion - a revolution in quality has occurred.
Major challenges in the industry are due to
technological changes
At this stage there are no current SBATS in
Printing. ACFIPS is working on a pilot project for
the Central Coast.

12.  Strata and property management skills,
differentiation between residential and commercial
 Training for agents in records management (of
conversations), safety aspects of property
management, keeping property to statutory
standards. Understanding differences in rentals
issues: low income affordable, housing commission,
holiday rentals
 Sales and marketing consulting- commercials and
residential, negotiating sale price, code of ethics,
trust accounting.

13.  Certificate II Security is the base for licensing
for a Security Officer.
 Risk environment has changed, requiring more
health and safety training, and the ability to
analyze risks in emergency situations,
observational/analytical skills, risk management
for an event, and defensive techniques.

14.  There are huge opportunities in Security
management and Security Electronics.
 There is a certificate II in Technical Security as
an SBATS. At this stage there have been no
SBATS in Technical Security.
