Sustainable architecture is part of our future, by taking the role of educating and showing our responsibilities as architects, planners, designers and land owners - the living buildings of tomorrow will be built today.
2. It's a simple approach.
Sustainable architecture looks to the
future by looking at the past.

3. WHAT IS ENERGY EFFICIENT
ARCHITECTURE?
The idea of energy efficient design is to modulate the
conditions such that they are always within or as close as
possible to comfort zone, in relation to the landscape, built
form, envelope, materials, and other control measures.
4. 8%As of 2015, only 8% of our
energy sources are renewable.

5. ENERGY EFFICIENCY
H o w d o w e a c h i e v e i t ?
Small is good
Passive & Active solar design
High levels of insulation
Efficient heating of air & water
Themal Mass
Ventilation
Efficient Lighting
6. WASTE MANAGEMENT
Waste management can be achieved through designing in
modules – planning ahead for disposal concerns. This
includes recycling while building, implementing grey water
systems, and making low-flow taps & showers.
7. BUILDING MATERIALS
S t a r t i n g e a r l y
Use of renewable, non-toxic materials
Use of recyclable and recycled materials
Use of locally-sourced materials to reduce transport
