Explosion proof barrier glands provide a flameproof compound seal, outer sheath seal and universal armour clamp for steel wire armoured (SWA) and galvanised steel braided (GSWB) cable termination. A barrier gland is an Ex d cable gland incorporating a compound filled chamber sealing around the individual cores of the cable to maintain the flameproof integrity of the electrical equipment. A barrier gland must be used where the standard method of cable glanding (elastomeric seals) an Ex cable entry is considered unlikely to maintain the integrity of flameproof electrical equipment and contain an explosion within the electrical enclosures due either to cable construction or degree of explosion risk.

CMP PX2K Cable Glands (Barrier Glands Exd Flameproof with ATEX Certification for Hazardous Areas) Cable Gland Size 63S (M63) 2" NPT Entry Thread Standard, 2.1/2" NPT Optional Cable Gland Suits Cable Diameters 45.6mm-59.4mm CMP PX2K barrier cable glands are ATEX certified and suitable for use with all forms of equipment protection permitted in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22. Flameproof compound filled barrier glands for cable terminations within ATEX areas are supplied with a "universal" reversible armour ring to suit all types of armoured cables - this includes steel wire armoured (SWA), steel tape armoured (STA) and wire braided cables for installation within hazardous areas. Barrier cable glands provide a compound barrier seal around the cable conductors and an environmental seal on the cable outer sheath. The CMP PX2K cable gland provides a mechanical cable retention and electrical continuity via the cable armour termination. A combined detachable armour cone and compound tube, together with AnyWay universal cable clamping ring arrangement allows the cable to be easily disconnected from the electrical equipment and easily re-connected. This cable gland feature facilitates remote make off procedures when the cable termination is to be conducted in confined spaces or in areas of restricted access. Tracing the root cause of a performance issue requires a lot of patience, experience, and focus. It’s so hard that we sometimes attempt to guess by trying out tentative fixes, but that usually results in frustration, messy code, and a considerable waste of time and money. This talk explains how to correctly zoom in on a performance bottleneck using three levels of profiling: distributed tracing, metrics, and method profiling. After we learn to read the JVM profiler output as a flame graph, we explore a series of bottlenecks typical for backend systems, like connection/thread pool starvation, invisible aspects, blocking code, hot CPU methods, lock contention, and Virtual Thread pinning, and we learn to trace them even if they occur in library code you are not familiar with. Attend this talk and prepare for the performance issues that will eventually hit any successful system.
