how did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning...
Technology
1. What have you learnt about the
technologies from the process of
constructing your product?
2. Due to me being a previous photography student, I had some
knowledge of how to work cameras. I had used the Cannon
cameras before, so had some experience of using it. I used a
Cannon EOS 600D.
I had the focus on manual, so I could focus it myself as I was
filming close up objects. It was important that I had focused on
the right bit of the object, so the key areas I wanted to be
highlighted were focused. I didn’t have much trouble focusing
and setting the camera on the tripod made it a lot easier, as the
key areas stayed in focus throughout the filming. I used a Tripod
in all of my filming and the tripod helped a lot in making the
camera keep still and so I could film different angles such as
putting the Tripod on the chair, and on the table but making it
smaller. The Tripod also benefited so what I filmed weren’t
shaky, as if they were it would have been really obvious.
The camera and Tripod worked well together and I didn’t have
any problems while working with both.

3. When it came to editing my film, I used Adobe
Premier Pro CS5 throughout my whole film. I had
originally planned to do different effects in Adobe
After Effects but found this very complicated and
didn’t fit in well, so I stuck to using Premier Pro.
I found it quite easy to
edit after I understood
the basics of using this
piece of software. I had
never used anything like
it before so it was new to
me. I got used to it
relatively quick and
managed to complete my
film quite easily. I didn’t
have many problems
using this
software, however I did
have to ask for help as I
wanted to add in a flash
effect which can be seen
throughout my film-one
cuts to another with a
black flash.
I found this piece of software very compatible with what I was
aiming to achieve- getting the video clips to go with the sound
which required cutting to clips fast. I think Premier Pro was perfect
for the job.

4. Blogger
Another technology I got used to using is the website where we upload all of
our work; Blogger. At first I found this site quite difficult to use as I had never
used it before, but I got the hang of it after a while. I found the site very
effective to use as it sorts the work out, putting it into a formal presentation.
5. Prezi, Voki and others - Embed
From this AS media course I have learnt how to
use different technologies, one of them is a
website called Prezi, and from this I learnt to
embed. Prezi was a very useful and creative
website that I used a lot throughout my work to
present my work in a creative way. From this I had
to Embed my work and put the code into Blogger.
At first I found this difficult to do, as it was hard to
find where the Embed code was located. After
searching, I eventually found it and was relatively
easy to Embed.
Another example of a website I used
for Embedding is ‘Voki’. I used many
different sites such as survey monkey
to record a survey, and slideshare and
scribd to upload powerpoints I had
made. I learnt how to use the websites
scribd and slideshare, which was very
effective to upload my work to my
blog. Voki was also a popular website
as it represented my target audience
greatly with what they looked like, and
their interests through speaking.
