Partnerships and BD Lead for Education Skills Program
1. PARTNERSHIPS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD
We are seeking a Partnerships and Business Development Lead who embodies our values,
understands the future challenges and opportunities for business development and is passionate
about creating impact in Spain’s education to employment ecosystem.
Who You’ll Work With
You will be part of Generation Spain. Worldwide, more than 75 million young people are unemployed.
But many employers can’t find people with the skills they need for entry-level jobs. Generation was
created in 2014 to help bridge this gap—at speed and scale.
We’re building a skills-training methodology that can serve hundreds of thousands, and eventually
millions, of young people a year. And we’re building proof that this training creates real business
outcomes for employers, and lasting career impact for trainees—so everyone has the incentive to
invest in skills. Our goal is to help our students achieve personal and professional success—and
fundamentally change their life trajectories. Generation programs prepare unemployed or
underemployed young people, aged 18 to 29, for jobs in four sectors: healthcare, technology,
retail/sales, and skilled trades.
Today, Generation is active in thirteen countries—146 cities and 348 sites—with diverse social,
economic and labor-market contexts.
What will you do
The Partnerships Lead and Business Development Lead is a full-time leadership role that will
report directly to the Generation Spain CEO, with two primary roles.
1) Forging and managing institutional partnerships for Generation Spain
Institutional partners (funders, government, training organizations, corporates) provide Generation
with the needed financing and infrastructure to deliver our programs. For example, philanthropic
funders and government provide grants, corporations and associations provide access to new
employer networks and private funded programs. As Partnerships Lead you are responsible for
identifying new target partners, developing relationships and securing formal agreements to
collaborate with these institutions, delivering the resourcing that Generation Spain needs to achieve
our ambitious impact targets.
2) Securing jobs for Generation graduates across a growing employer portfolio
Securing employer commitments to hire graduates of the Generation program is a critical enabler of
our high placement rates. As BD Lead you are responsible for maintaining high job attainment rates
by identifying and securing vacancies for graduates from among our network of employer partners,
as well as growing this network in its own right. You are further tasked with identifying
opportunities for Generation to embed our methodology in the recruiting and training processes of
