At the end of 60 minutes of discussions the grade 10 students are expected to the following
with at least 80 % of proficiency level:
Introduce themselves into the nature of Cheer Dance and its basic Elements;
Perform the basic hand movement and position in Cheer Dance;
Shows appreciation in the basic hand movement and position in Cheer Dance

Okay class before we proceed to another interesting
lesson, I am going to group the class into two(2)
groups. Each group has to pick letter on the board it
has a corresponding word and they will use to create
a short cheer/ yell.

So class, what is Cheer dance?

CHEERDANCE is coined from the words, CHEER and
DANCE. To cheer is to shout out words or phrases that
may help motivate and boost the morale of a playing
team and perform better during a game.
How about the word Dance?
Dance, on the other hand, is a physical activity where
one expresses emotions or gestures while performing
bodily movements.

Where did cheer dancing originated?
Cheer dancing originated in the United States, with an
estimated 1.5 million Americans participating in high-
profile competitions.
Although the sport is mostly dominated by females,
did you know that it started out as an all-male activity
in the late 1800s? It is surprising, isn't it? With most
teams featuring female members today, you cannot
quite imagine that men during those times were
interested in such an activity.
Today, cheer dancing is identified as one of the most
spectacular events in one of the biggest collegiate
sports events in the country, the (University Athletic
Association of the Philippines).
Now, let us proceed to basic hand movements and
positions of cheer dance.

Ready Position
Hands behind back, feet shoulder with apart.
High V
Arms are at 45 degrees angle to the body. Pinky
fingers are to the back.
4. Low V
Very Good.
T Position
Arms are at a 90 degrees angle to the bodyArms are
straight out to the sides at shoulder height and hands
should be turned so that the thumbs face forward and
the pinky fingers face to the back. Hands are in tight
fists. Feet are typically together, but this can vary by
routine.
Broken T
Same as a T but arms are bent. Do not bring it
forward. Pinky fingers are to the front.
5. Touch Down
Arms are up in line with the body. Bring arms to ears
pinky fingers are to the front.
Low Down
Arms are straight down, in- line with the body. Arms
should be tight to the body and slightly forward. Pinky
fingers are to the back.

E. Application
Direction:
I will group you into four(4) groups.
Each group will be given 10 minutes to create a basic
cheer dance
After 10 minutes, the group will perform their activity
And they will be graded in the given rubrics.
