Task 1 - Conventions of a portfolio website
1.
2. This is a conventional portfolio homepage. The navigation bar is comprises of 2 things “work” & “about” showing that this navigation bar does not contain as much information as a standard website e.g. YouTube, IMDB etc. also there isn’t a lot of text making it easy and faster for the user to read and understand. The website does not have any “back links” (these are links which lead to other websites the less there are the harder it will be for a search engine to find them). It does not follow conventional layouts as it only has a header and main image Logo Navigation bar Main image & Main Text copyright
3.
4. There are very few pages on this website which is convenient for the user as it means that they can navigate their way through the website quickly . Examples of work are found easily by simply clicking on the “work” link in the navigation bar then following the links on this page. When you click on the images the image expands giving you a relatively large image of the homepage of the website he created or a image of a logo or graphic he has created
5. This is another portfolio website which uses flash content to entertain the audience whilst navigating through, the navigation buttons have 4 sections: “3D Works”, “Web Works”, “logos”, and “icons” each one of these shows an example of graphics and websites the designer has created. Again like most conventional portfolio websites there is not a lot of content in the navigation making it easy to explore the site also there is very little text meaning the user isn't stuck on one page for a long period of time and can just view the artwork quickly Links “twitter” Contact Information Logo Main image / Navigation Buttons Awards & Featured links copyright

The page is mostly dominated by cluttered images adding to the difficulty of finding something Background / main image Main Text Link - Twitter LOGO Link - Homepage
