2. Krohn Clinic is excited to
announce the addition of the
newest type of mammogram
called breast tomosynthesis
(3D Mammography™ exam).
3. Q: What is breast tomosynthesis?
A: Breast tomosynthesis is a screening tool that is
used in addition to the conventional 2D digital
mammogram that you may have had in the past.
This allows radiologists to look at several thin-layer
images of the breast instead of one single image.
4. Q: Does my insurance cover this
service?
A: Medicare covers this exam, while other
insurance coverage for 3D Mammography
exams vary. Check with your insurance
provider to find out if 3D Mammography
exams are covered and if you are responsible
for any additional costs.
If insurance only covers the 2D digital screening mammogram, many
women have chosen to pay for the additional 3D Mammography charge
themselves.
5. Q: Whom can I contact if I have additional
billing questions about 3D Mammography
exams?
A: Krohn Clinic Insurance
Department at 715-284-4311;
option 2
Please consult your physician for a full list of benefits and risks associated with mammography.
