8. Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capacity of recognizing our own
feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, for managing
emotions in ourselves as well as in our relationships .
EI is critical to managing your behavior, moving smoothly
through social situations and making critical choices in life
People with high emotional intelligence are usually
successful in most things they do. Why?
Because they're the ones that others want on their team.
15. If You Don’t Like Something, Change It.
If You Can’t Change it,
Change Your Attitude.
16. SWOT ANALYSIS
SWOT Analysis is a useful technique that helps to identify strengths
and weaknesses, and analysing the opportunities and threats.
What makes SWOT especially powerful is that, with a little thought,
it can help uncover opportunities that would not otherwise have
spotted.
By understanding weaknesses, one can manage and eliminate threats
that might otherwise hurt one’s ability to move forward.
17.
18. STRENGTHS
What advantages do you have that others don't have (for example,
skills, certifications, education, or connections)?
What do you do better than anyone else?
Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
Are you part of a network that no one else is involved in? If so,
what connections do you have with influential people?
Think about your strengths in relation to the people around you.
19. If you are a great mathematician and then
people around you are also great at math's, then
this is not likely to be a strength in your current
role-it may be a necessity.
For example:
20. WEAKNESSES
What tasks do you usually avoid because you don't feel
confident doing them?
What are your negative work habits (for example, are you often
late, are you disorganized, do you have a short temper, or are you
poor at handling stress)?
What would your boss or coworkers say are your weaknesses?
21. OPPORTUNITIES
What new technology can help you?
Is your industry growing? If so, how can you take advantage
of the current market?
Are any of your competitors failing to do something
important? If so, can you take advantage of their mistakes?
Do your customers or vendors complain about something in
your company? If so, could you create an opportunity by
offering a solution?
22. THREATS
What obstacles do you currently face at work?
Are any of your colleagues competing with you for projects or roles?
Is your job (or the demand for the things you do) changing?
Does changing technology threaten your position?
Could any of your weaknesses lead to threats?
23. A model for improving self-awareness, personal
development, group development, understanding
relationship and mutual understanding between
individuals within a group.
It classifies behavior in a matrix from between:
What is known – unknown to self, and what is known –
unknown to others.
JOHARI WINDOW
24. THE FOUR JOHARI WINDOWS
Four quadrant or four window-pane are there. Each contains and
represents the information - feelings, motivation, etc - in terms of
whether the information is known or unknown by the person,
and whether the information is known or unknown by others in
the team.
25.
26. WHY JOHARI WINDOW?
• The model also referred to as a 'disclosure/feedback model of self
awareness', and an 'information processing tool‘.
The ‘hidden self’can be reduced and the ‘open self’can be increased
through the ‘disclosure’process.
Likewise, the 'feedback process’can be used to decrease ‘blind self’
and simultaneously increase the ‘open self’.
