Thriller

1. Working On Garageband.
Before making the thriller music we had been advised to use a music app called
“Garageband” on the apple macs, to use this specific way of making music we had to be
given a lesson on how to use it. After this lesson we had a chance to experiment on how to
use Garageband, (I will insert a clip on what and how I created the tester music session) I
did find the process really hard because I could work out what buttons to press and found
myself asking for help most of the time, therefore I decided that I shouldn’t be the one to
create the thriller music as it wouldn’t benefit the group and the thriller video. As a group we
had come to the conclusion that Oliver in our group was best at creating music and had
given him leading role, after the taster/ teaching session we had the chance to create a
music piece for our thriller as it was mainly Oliver’s job we would put suggestions in and give
him feedback on what we had thought about the piece, this had continued until we were all
happy with the end result.

giving Oliver suggestions on what I
believed sounded nice, what didn’t
sound nice and what to include. By
spending time talking to Oliver
about the music and asking
questions on how to use it I had
developed my skills in garage band
and now feel confident in using it
I found it specifically hard to control
certain aspects of Garageband, such
as controlling the volume of the
specific instruments and overlapping
certain instruments. Over the course
of time I had developed and improved
the skills of Garageband.
Over all I can confidently say I am happy with using Garageband and
happy with what we have achieved. I am also glad that I have taken a
back seat at the beginning as I feel it has gave us as a group a better
chance at getting a good grade.
