Thriller

1. Uploading the Rough cut:
We had uploaded our thriller opening rough cut onto two main social platforms; YouTube
and Facebook as we feel this would be the where we would get the most feedback on a
technical media level. As you can see in the rough cut the thriller opening isn’t perfect and
needs major adjustments, however, we felt that feedback was needed in order to move
forward and progress with the media project. The first social media platform we had
uploaded it to YouTube and we had gained incredible feedback, most of the feedback did
consist of people saying that there should be music all throughout the thriller opening which
is expected. Despite this we also got feedback suggesting we make it clearer as to what the
young girl in the thriller was looking at, because they were confused. Also the music was
committed on, saying that it was too boring and had no depth to it, this was the type of
feedback we needed and wanted to improve our thriller with this feedback we will start to
change our thriller. Here are some examples of feedback that we had got on YouTube

The feedback we had gotten from YouTube was very helpful, most of the comments had stated that it
was good in regards of lighting and the different shots used, however we did also get feedback
suggesting that we should change the size of the typography as it was too big. This was
understandable as after looking at it from an audience’s point of view it looked as though it was taking
over the screen, with that said we had later changed the typography to a thinner font, we didn’t
necessarily change the size as we felt it wouldn’t be seen as well as it could.
Also we was told on various occasions that our thriller opening was confusing and that they didn’t
understand, we plan to change this by moving certain shots around for example the shot with the
male character. I am planning to cut it in half and place it further down into the thriller opening so it is
clear who the female character is looking at. By gathering this feedback it enabled us to improve our
thriller film and put it to the next level.
