Interviewee
Answer
At my previous job, I was working as a recruiter when I disagreed with my colleague. One
candidate was perfect for the role in their company, but she was not having a college
degree. My colleague was looking for more qualifications instead of experience, however,
the candidate had a lot of experience in many companies. During my lunchtime, I talked
with my manager about this case and the skills of the candidate. After 10 minutes of
talking somehow, I convinced my manager that the candidate holds all the experience (our
company is seeking out) although the candidate’s resume was weak.
Interview Notes Instead of arguing with the colleague, Hannah takes this point to the manager and her
suggestion made the manager look at the situation that benefits the company by hiring a
candidate based on skills not on qualifications.

Interviewee
Answer
I never try to commit to a deadline and usually use a calendar, time management, and
planning to meet my deadline. I encounter this situation at my last job during COVID-19.
One of the team members was not able to complete her task because of sickness. So, my
manager gave me this project as she believes I can do this. This project was very important
for our company. Instead of getting nervous or tense, I took the help of my supervisor and
seniors, they gave me some tips and instructions. With my time management skills, I was
able to finish the project before the time. Eventually, I also got a reward for this.
Interview Notes Good point is that she was quite confident while answering but she didn’t give any
clarification to the probe question that what she will do differently if put in the same
situation again.

In this situation, I will use a conflict management strategy. Rather than ignoring the
situation, I will calm both parties and then listen to both. After that, I will find the root
cause of the conflict and find the best solution or use a win-win approach for the conflict-
management.
Interview Notes She gives an example of her previous job where she resolves a conflict between two
coworkers. Her answer was to the point since she will use a win-win conflict resolution
where both parties will be satisfied with the solution.

manager and make sure
that strict action is taken
against him or her.
Train other interviewers
not to repeat the mistake
in the future
Interviewee
Answer
I will approach the departmental manager and ask him not to do it by reminding the rules
and regulations of the company. If still, he is biased while selecting then I will take this issue
to the HR manager to look into this matter to take the best action.
Interview Notes Her answer and strategy were good because instead of ignoring this issue she will directly
approach the departmental manager. But in my perspective, she should directly take this
issue to the upper authority as this is not an ignorable issue. She is giving another chance to
the Departmental manager to continue his mistakes.
