1. Dear Hiring Manager,
My name is Kimberly Brabb-Wheeler and I am interested in a position as a Registered Nurse in
pediatrics. I believe I would be an asset as a pediatric nurse not only because of my education, clinical
experiences and work ethic but I have a unique range of experience working with children in my previous
profession that will transition into providing excellent care to patients, communicating with children and
families, along with attention to detail and respect for individuality and diversity.
I am interested in working in pediatrics because I enjoy working with children and I would love to provide
nursing care to children. I have always had a desire to make a difference and have a fulfilling career. I
believe providing exceptional nursing care to children would allow me to achieve this goal. I am currently
completing my final semester clinical/preceptorship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on the pulmonary
floor and will earn my associate’s degree RN from Columbus State in May. I am also concurrently
enrolled in the RN-BSN program at The Ohio State University.
In my 12 years of professional experience in education, I worked with “typical” children and well as those
with challenges including a variety of learning, medical, social, behavioral and/or cognitive disabilities
including autism, ADHD, cognitive delays, multiple disabilities, oppositional defiant, and more in a variety
of settings. I have experience communicating with children, families, and other professionals. Other skills
from my previous career that I believe will transition well to nursing include collaboration with other
professionals, assessing, developing goals and interventions, evaluating and documentation. Please
feel free to contact me by phone or email. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Kimberly Brabb-Wheeler
