January 2013 – Clinical Director/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Dysfunctional Elimination Clinic
Present Developed and implemented a nurse practitioner-led subspecialty referral program
providing integrated services for children with incontinence and dysfunctional
elimination with shared oversight by pediatric gastroenterology, urology, and psychiatry.
Specialized testing includes urodynamics, EMG Uroflow, and pediatric/3D anorectal
manomtery. Specialized treatment includes animated pelvic floor biofeedback.

Nutritional Support Team. Wrote and instituted proposal for a city-wide Pediatric
Nutritional Support Service. Developed written protocol, policies and procedures, and
QA monitor for care of children receiving parenteral and enteral nutritional therapy and
instituted protocols on a community wide basis. Responsible for direct patient care
including: independent ongoing assessment and treatment of chronically ill but stable
children, coordination of community care, inpatient admissions and discharges, patient
education and pre-procedural preparation, NG, NJ, GT, and CVC care and
troubleshooting, motility disorders, motility testing, and bowel training. Acted as
consultant to nurses in inpatient facilities, home care agencies, the school system, and
other pediatric subspecialists on the care of children receiving nutritional support.
Pediatric Nursing Representative to the University Medical Center Pediatric Nutritional
Support Team. Responsible for networking with other clinical specialists on a state and
national level.

Administrative and clinical accountability for Cardiopulmonary and Specialty Medicine
Clinics Responsible for maintenance of the primary nursing model through consultation,
education and role modeling. Responsible for promotion of clinical nursing practice
through interinstitutional and intrainstitutional role modeling and preceptorship. Acted as
a change agent to institute interinstitutional systems to facilitate coordination of patient
care and integration of pediatric nursing within the community. Acted as a
consultant/educator to facilitate interdisciplinary programs and systems in coordination
with physicians and staff. Responsible for recruitment of clinical specialists.

comprehensive multidisciplinary pediatric hemophilia care. Responsible for
coordinating and implementing the care of patients in the hematology and hemophilia
clinic populations inclusive of: the development and implementation of individualized
plans of care, patient/family teaching, development and institution of a home
transfusion program, development of written patient information brochures, consulting
within the school system and consulting on hematology/hemophilia patients during in-
patient admissions. Consultant to professionals and the community. Responsible for
networking with other hematology/hemophilia clinics on a national level.
December 1984 – Director of Surgical Nursing
December 1986 Twenty-four hour administrative and clinical accountability for a 32 bed pediatric
surgical/orthopaedic unit and a R.N. staff of 34. Responsible for instituting primary
nursing (utilizing nursing process, written care plans and modified problem oriented
charting), participative management, peer review, a working patient acuity system and
clinical laddering. Instituted bedside report, nursing rounds, bi-weekly multidisciplinary
rounds and monthly nursing grand rounds. Provided direct patient care to pediatric
orthopaedic, surgical and ICU patients. Responsible for cost containment, scheduling,
Quality Assurance, development of standards of care, and hiring/counseling and
termination of staff. Responsible for 24 hour clinical and administrative call. Member of
the Administrative Nursing Council. Acted in the Associate Director of nursing role in
the director's absence.

patient. Assisted in formulation of an educational manual for professionals on parenteral
and enteral nutritional support and a competency exam to test clinician's pediatric

1986 – 1987 Consultant and liaison for orthopaedic nursing services to medicine and JWCH nurses.
Responsible for integration of NCC outpatient and JWCH inpatient orthopaedic surgical
services. Participated in daily JWCH orthopaedic surgical rounds, instituted bi-weekly
