3. One Punch Man
• One-Punch Man is an ongoing Japanese superhero web comic created
by ONE which began publication in early 2009. The series quickly went viral,
surpassing 7.9 million hits in June 2012.
• One-Punch Man tells the story of Saitama, an extremely
overpowered superhero, who has grown bored and miserable by the absence of
challenge in his fight against evil and seeks to find a worthy opponent.
• A digital manga remake of the series, illustrated by Yusuke Murata, began
publication on Shueisha's Young Jump Web Comics website in 2012.
• ONE began publishing One-Punch Man as a web comic in 2009. As of July 2017,
the web comic has released 126 chapters. When the series became popular,
receiving 7.9 million hits by June 2012, Yusuke Murata contacted One with a
proposal to redraw the comic for digital publication in Weekly Young Jump Spin-
off manga website Young Jump Web Comics, published by Shueisha. The first
chapter was published on June 14, 2012.
4. Saitama
• Protagonist of the web comic One Punch Man.
• Living in a world under constant threat of monster and alien attacks
Saitama sees a small child about to be murdered by a monster and not
being strong enough to fight it, is blooded up trying to save the kid, he
then vows to be the strongest man on Earth and prevent anyone from
being harmed, he then trains constantly until he becomes so strong that
he can kill anything in one punch.
• Saitama soon learns that being the strongest means that there is no
challenge for him anymore, so he becomes miserable and bored of his life
only dreaming of what his equal in strength might be like.
• The series follows his story of becoming a hero and defending earth from
creatures that bring people harm.
• Apart from fighting and being “a hero for fun” Saitima’s only hobby is
training and training his friend Genos, however he always makes sure he
gets to the mall on a Saturday to catch all the sales and bargains, he is
known to get very upset and angry if he misses them.
5. Akira Toriyama
• Akira Toriyama began his career as a manga and
games artist in 1978.
• He is best known for creating Dragon ball.
• Toriyama is regarded as one of the artists that
changed the history of manga, as his works are
highly influential and popular,
particularly Dragon Ball, which many manga
artists cite as a source of inspiration.
• Akira Toriyama doesn’t write for any company,
he writes independently.
6. Dragon Ball
• Dragon Ball is a Japanese manga series written by Akira Toriyama.
Dragon ball has 519 chapters which were originally serialized
in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from 1984 to 1995.
• The 519 individual chapters were printed and put into 42 Graphic
novels by the publisher Shueisha.
• Dragon Ball was inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the
West. It initially had a comedy focus but later became an action-
packed fighting series.
• The story follows the adventures of Son Goku, from childhood to
adulthood, as he trains in martial arts and explores the world in
search of the seven orbs, known as Dragon Balls, which summon a
wish-granting dragon when gathered. Along his journey, Goku
makes several friends and battles villains, many of whom also
seek the Dragon Balls.
7. Frieza
• Frieza is a character in the Dragon Ball manga series. Frieza makes his
debut in Chapter #247: ”Dark Clouds Swirl Over Planet Namek”, first
published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on October 6, 1989,as a
galactic tyrant feared as the most powerful being in the universe.
• Despite not appearing until the manga's second half, Frieza is considered
to be the most iconic antagonist from the Dragon Ball franchise due to
effectively serving as the catalyst of many of the events depicted in the
story, such as Goku's arrival on Earth, the Saiyans landing on Earth, and
subsequently the main characters going to planet Namek. He is also
directly responsible for the murder of Goku's father Bardock,
the genocide of the Saiyan race, the death of Vegeta, and the second
death of Goku's best friend Krillin, arguably making him Goku's most
personal and significant enemy, and the final fight between Goku and
Frieza has been hailed as one of the most memorable manga and anime
battles ever. Frieza later appears in Dragon Ball Super as a recurring villain.
