SPECIAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Mr. Tehansky, a graduate of University of
Maryland with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, has 10
years of experience in the fields of geotechnical
design and construction as well as materials
testing and inspection. Areas of competence
include deep foundation (driven pile, drilled
shaft, auger cast, helical anchor and micropile),
inspection and load testing services and
geotechnical instrumentation. Other fields of
competence include concrete, reinforcing steel,
soils inspection services and geotechnical site
investigations.
Mr. Tehansky has performed Cross Hole Sonic
Logging (CSL) testing of drilled shaft foundations
in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania,
Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma,
Arkansas, Kentucky, New York, and New Jersey.
Mr. Tehansky’s project experience includes:
Intelligence Community Campus – Centrum Building, Bethesda,
MD –Managed nuclear density soils testing, concrete testing,
foundation, reinforcing steel, and drilled shaft inspections, and
existing structure coring exploration to determine loading
capabilities of high security multi-level office buildings.
Vogtel Nuclear Power Plant, Waynesboro, GA - Performed drilled
shaft lateral load tests, plate load testing of soil subgrades, CSL
testing of drilled shafts, and Pile Integrity Testing (PIT) of auger cast
piles.
Division E – M-Street Diversion Sewer & Division I – Main Pumping
Station Diversions, Washington, D.C. – Planned, installed, and
managed instrumentation monitoring of tunneling and excavating
operations with the use of inclinometers, observation wells,
vibrating wire piezometers, seismographs, extensometers, and
monitoring points including real-time automated surveyed data
uploaded to a web-based system.
I-70/South Street Interchange, Frederick, MD - Performed pre and
post-construction surveys of residential and commercial properties
as well as state/county owned roadways/bridges. Coordinated,
inspected, and reported soil boring and rock coring site
investigation. Performed pile driving inspection during the
construction phase.
MD 695 Minor Rehabilitation Bridge No. 0327606 Over Amtrak,
Essex, MD – Performed hydraulic tensioning on steel dywidag bars
and brackets for temporary lifting system of bridge span.
University of Maryland Eastern Shore – EACMS Building, Princess
Anne, MD – Inspected and managed subsurface field exploration for
proposed multi-level structure. Exploration consisted of deep soil
borings and infiltration testing. Designed foundation considerations
consisting of fill selection/placement, foundation type, site
seismicity, pavement areas, and storm-water management.
Canton Viaduct Load Testing Program, Baltimore, MD – Performed axial
compression load tests on existing piles of bridge piers using existing pile
caps to determine capacity of in-place bridge foundation. Performed
compression, tension, and lateral load tests on test piles for design of
supplemental foundation construction. Installed and monitored strain
gauges and shaped accelerometer arrays in conjunction with pile top
displacement gauges.
